QVC should change their name along with everything else

QVC has changed management, changed the focus of the company as stated by them, changed policies, changed corporate culture and doing away with the customer via the customer community here.

So why not change the name to reflect the new day?

I used to be assurred that anything I bought from QVC would be quality--like the Denim and Co pants I've bought for 30 years.  Now?  Crummy, terrible material and ill fitting.

Phone operators were wonderful and fixed issues quickly and efficiently.  Now?  I have to e-mail to get someone.

Now?  I can't cancel anything no matter how delayed shipping will be.  Now I can't be assurred I'll even get things I ordered.

So from a friendly, customer oriented we have wound up with just another big internet face of a company whose policies and practices are suspect.  I was thinking that going forward it's just another internet site.  QVC as I new and enjoyed it doesn't exist any more.

It's a shame but things change.   I would bet people like Mary Beth and David will be out the door soon.  They don't fit the new corporate model in any way.

i also have been here many many years. I have noticed "The todays special value" hasn't been good quality for years. This may be off topic, but I am finding Target has some great new designers, and really nice quality !

Re: QVC should change their name along with everything else

What I find so surprising is that the Q has always been a remote shopping experience.  They were able to meet their clients needs and get the items out in time.

But now, they seem to have fallen apart.  While other companies that did not have an online presence previously are excelling at shipping items out in a timely manner, the Q can no longer perform what was its' original premise.

I just got off the phone with a very nice CS rep.  I needed him to check on the status of a return......it was actually an exchange  The exchange was sent back to the Q on September 10th.  I never heard from them.  He was able to tell me that the package was indeed recieved by them on the 24th.  But then, it seems to have been lost in the warehouse.  He has no information on the exchange.  I told him to forget it and just credit my account.

On another item, I was to have recieved it on September 29th.  A few day prior I recieved an email saying the item will be delayed, but I will recieve it by the 6th.  I called to cancel, but was told the item was in process and couldn't be cancelled.  Well today, the new date is now October 11th.  I can't cancel, but I doubt I'll ever get the product either.

These are the basics of running an online business.  I'm hoping the Q is going to go back to basics and get it right.  If they can't handle the volume now, I can't even imagine the mess they will have with the after the holiday returns.

Re: QVC should change their name along with everything else

You know what's sad?  They never ever realized how many times these boards "saved" a sale with a contributor talking to someone who was on the fence.  How many times someone jumped in and explained something and saved CS an angry/frustrated call from someone who was confused and mad.  These forums helped them in so many ways that they totally ignored and have thrown us under the bus.  Alot of these people on these boards have been here a long time and know their way around QVC and their products.  Even more so than their own CS.  Shutting down the forums is a lose-lose for them.  Not only will they lose a "behind the scenes customer service" of all the forum people who helped with sales questions" which means more angry, frustrated, confused customers calling, they will be losing all those sales.

These boards were as much a part of the shopping experience to alot of people as the TSV, Lunchtime Specials or any other gimmick they tried.

@eadu4   Not to mention how many people logged onto their website to check the forums and ending up buying something.  It will be interesting to see how far their website numbers fall after the change.  Most companies want people to come to their sites, if only for the exposure.

@Sooner

LOL ... too bad you didn't suggest a new name for them.

BTW ... why did you single out Mary Beth and David of all the hosts?

I have had an order sitting "in processing" for 30 days.  When they finally shipped it, mail innovations was unbelievably used.

It is currently in day 5 of floating from place to place on the East Coast.

There's been nothing special about the Today's Special Value for a long time. I don't get excited about them the way I used to. The value on Q is missing, but,to me,there is value in being able to use Easy Pay. I think my purchases would be much less if it were not for Easy Pay. They are convenient, but I have to wait for my purchases longer than other stores online. Quality is not bad, but it's not at the top level it used to be.
