QVC Yo-Yo pricing or just increasing prices?

I've noticed in the last few days several of my wishlist clearence items have gone up in price a few dollars. I know Q raises prices to cover free s/h days but is this just the yo-yo pricing that they sometimes do or are they raising prices a few dollars hoping we don't notice? I'm on a budget so every dollar counts. I don't buy much from Q anymore because of higher pricing, bad  quality, out of stock in my size and hassle of returns which accounts for 75% of my purchases. I still have a couple of favorites but I don't like the yo-yo prices.

I'm not sure why individuals don't understand retail. Every grocery store and department store I go to has "temporary" sales. The prices will go down then return to regular pricing.

This is also the case with online retailers. Every business I shop with will have sales, these prices do not stay at the sale prices forever.

The biggest culprit of this so called Yo-Yo pricing is Amazon. I save a lot of items and every day that I log onto Amazon I get a long list of price changes. Some only pennies different but some go up and some go down in varying amounts.

Another thing people don't seem to grasp is we do not go to our local stores every single day and check prices on everything. It is easy to sit on our sofa and log on and check prices online daily. If you did go in person to stores you would find prices fluctuate continually. It's been this way as long as I can remember.

@suzykee As a suggestion, I have found the As Is and Final Sales prices do not go up with free shipping.

Also, when there are sales on QVC, and sales usually mean temporary, I look at what the shipping costs. I find on many items, especially the items with $5.50+ shipping, may be cheaper to buy on free shipping days even if the price goes back to normal.

See the item below. I will wait for free shipping, if the price goes up to the regular price I will still be ahead. Just a thought to save a couple bucks.

Yes, their pricing is all over the place, and has been for a long time. But the hosts are not honest about it.

I was watching Sandra recently presenting an item of clothing that I had already purchased.  She stated that, "This is the lowest price we have offered this item."

Well I bought it from QVC for less than the price she was referring to.

I don't really understand their strategy.  Most retail stores will have sales, then the sale is over and the price goes back up.  We all know that.  Or items will go on clearance, and STAY THERE at that price, or go lower, until they are gone.  QVC has clearance, and clearance sale, then the price can go back to the original price.  Why?

Always remember that you are absolutely unique. Just like everyone else. Margaret Mead

I just did a thread about this last weekend thinking maybe there might be free shipping as my wish list items were higher.  QVC does change their prices way too often.

I somewhat understand the whole retail thing but it is ridiculous how often prices change on here.   I  have never experienced such vast changes in a B&M store.

It's common for retailers to put items on sale and then return them to the original price after the sale price.   That happens everywhere.  I don't stalk prices.  I don't care what the thing I want today was priced at two weeks ago or last month.  I make my decision based on today's price.

Nothing in my WL has gone up at all.....so I wouldn't mind free shipping!!

Amz and Wally both fluctuate pricing numerous times in the same day!!!  Neither will price match other retailers OR give a sale price adjustment if the item goes down.  Yo-Yo is not exclusive to Q.

I understand the "sales" concept. I'm referencing "clearence" items. Two different things. Q used to give you the discounted/sale price if you called & requested it within so many days. There has been mention that this is no longer the case.

I understand the concept of sales - the price can flucuate. CLEARENCE items are just that - clearence NOT a temporary sale. 2 different things. Do they want to get rid of merchandise or not? I'm wondering if free s/h is coming up because of the increases. Time will tell.

I'm with you. I thought clearence was just that - clear out the merchandise at a reduced price not play yo-yo.
