I expect a few of the long-timers will be retiring in the near future.

The bottom line is given the narrow range of products and brands they've chosen to program virtually exclusively for quite some time, they never needed multiple channels nor so any hosts. This is akin to department stores who opened too many branch stores, over-saturated their markets and found they couldn't sustain the growth. The current international situation might have escalated matters, but dismal failures in shipping and customer service, both of which predated the pandemic, have done them no favors either, nor has incessant repetition of the same products they've routinely been bombarding their customers with for years. Quite simply put, to a large segment of their audience, both current and former, QVC became boring. Add in high prices, customer unfriendly shipping policies along with the lack of meaningful customer incentives and what did they think was going to happen? I feel badly for the host departures, particularly Antonella, and for those who were behind the scenes, but can't hack up much sympathy for incompetent corporate types, assuming any of them are to hit the trail, as they so richly deserve to do.

Sandra is one of the finest hosts they have. She served them well during the pandemic, working tirelessly to intro multiple TSVs and worked much longer hours than others.

And her show is on tonight, so she's good (as you can be at that place.)

Antonella and Kristine are the other 2.

Some like Sharon F. and Jill B. were smart enought to see the handwriting on the wall.

I was thinking of Courtney Cason too.

Re: QVC Layoffs

Antonella is the only one I didn’t have to google.

I am happy for Antonella; I really like her and she is very skilled when allowed to shine. But someone made horrible decisions regarding her - I mean, she should never be a side kick or clown and that is what they tried to do to her. Shameful. I couldn’t watch her being treated that way. I’ll bet her light shines even brighter once she is free of the Q.

I for one, don't think for a minute that Courtney Cason or Sharon Faetsch left on their own.  People tend to look at those good-bye posts only on the surface.  Both used the same language, "I will be spending time with my family...".

Yes they are, they were let go by QVC so they have that time now.  If you still want a career on air in the future, you always try to describe your departure as your own decision.  If you read Kristine Zell's good bye post today, she does the exact same thing:

"I have some news to share with you, my QVC friends. I am leaving QVC and will be taking time to spend with my family. 2020 has been a year of focusing on what’s most important and my two little kids need their mama. I would love if you stay in touch and continue to follow me on Instagram at KristineZellTV. Thank you for going on this beautiful journey with me. You watched me pregnant, have my daughter, and come back and shop with you over the past 3 years. I’m forever grateful for this opportunity and your friendship. God bless!"

Yes, she is leaving QVC, and sure enough the result is, she will be taking time to spend with her family.

Those are the keys phrases so they can all save face and hopefully find employment elsewhere easier.  All of them had shows scheduled and very active social media posts for their QVC shows right up until their last day.

It's a tough and very competitive market out there for TV work.  They need all the help they can get.

I wish them all well.

haven’t read all of these posts, but have been a little surprised to not see references to Sandra. I would put her in the precarious list - someone not even thought enough about to worry about. She’s kind of a placeholder to me now - having lost her highest profile Friday night beauty show. At least she still does some midnight TSV shows.

Who does the Friday Beauty show now?  I've always liked Sandra the most, really.

It's Shawn's Dare to Share Beauty now.  I liked watching Sandra when she filled in for Shawn while she was out at the beginning of the pandemic (I don't really turn it on when Shawn is on it).  I don't dislike Sandra - her personality is just closer to those who are leaving than those they are keeping.
