Sizing - Opinions please (Size Medium)

What do you think of QVC's sizing?

I bought a Denim & Co. coat and it's a trifle big in Size M.  I fear if I bought a Small it would be too small.

I just bought a fleece zip jacket in black because it was a great deal (also Denim & Co) and it's roomy but I will keep it.

Do you feel the sizes run a little big?    (other Mediums at the department store always run either true-to-size or even a tiny bit fitted).

Thanks everyone!

Yes, Denim & Co. garments are generously sized but are not hugely oversized.  Coats and jackets especially are size large for wearing bulky winter clothing beneath.

I rarely go by the size. I go by the measurements.

I find the sizing all over the place.  Sometimes I can do a M, sometimes I can do a L, and I often puzzle over which is best.

I feel it's best to use the QVC garment measurement table as a guide in conjunction with measurements from a similar item you already have at home.

I find D&C sizing to be extremely consistent.  I always order the same size top; they always fit.  Pants also consistent but due to varying amounts of stretch, they vary more than tops.

QVC sizing does run big, but a part of the problem is that they group sizes, like 4-6.  That is a cheap way out and they do it all over, but it just means that it actually fits no one.

If you go according to tag size then you'll most likely get a garment which is too big for you. In other words, Q is vanity sized.  But if you go by the garment measurement charts then you might get one to fit you, that is if that chart is true to size.

Re: Sizing - Opinions please (Size Medium)

II always consult the table that's usually provided via a link at the end of the listing, or sometimes as an image in the listing  illustrations. I would never buy a garment on QVC without doing this because not only do measurements differ maker to maker, but even the same maker may have somewhat different sizing for different garments, depending on cut. The table I'm referring to has specs for each size of the garment, including things like bust, hip, waist, sleeve length, garment length and how it's measured, inseam, and far more detailed figures. I've never received anything from QVC that differed meaningfully from their numbers.

@tarsmom

Q including D&C uses vanity sizing.

B&M stores I am a medium - size 9/10

D&C size - XXS = I have not been that size since I was a fetus.
