@AnjalenaQVC thanks for forwarding people's concern that victims of California wildfires be mentioned by the Q. so glad to see a banner up.

@Mj12 thanks for the heads up. i modified an earlier post to thank the Q.
i don't know how they decided, but do want to thank @AnjalenaQVC for passing along our thoughts on this to the right spot.
there are still fires burning - and tons of tough times ahead for so many. always good for them to know that people are thinking of them.

Best to try to regain your composure, it happens quite often on this forum.

@ValuSkr wrote:When they ask at the store whether I want to contribute to xyz cause, I just say "no, thank you," like they'd just offered me something. That's always worked - no one's ever challenged it.
@ValuSkr I agree. The cashier, unless it’s a manager, is working for low or minimum wage. They’re doing with they’ve been told to do, they don’t really care whether you donate or not. Unless there’s some kind of in-store competition. The nosey customer behind you could be a problem I suppose, but I haven’t run into that so far. Maybe I need to get a response ready. 😄 I seldom donate at the register, unless it’s for one of the charities I already donate to on my own. If it’s a rounding up situation, I’ve always (?) said yes. Lately it’s Wreaths Across America at the local ACE hardware store.

I've only been asked "can you please answer the question on the screen" (on the card swipe machine) at the grocery store, Petsmart, etc., if I'd like to make a donation. No one even verbalizes it, much less hassles me about it.

What, we can't figure out where and when to donate on our own? Oh, if a banner gets put up then QVC did something? I'm sure thousands are doing something too, my guess is "tweeting" their sympathies for all to see. Not that's doing something, right???

You can give to the Red Cross anytime you want to. Don't need a shopping to tell you.

@SahmIam I believe you.
It hasn't happened to me, but just because it hasn't happened to me, doesn't mean it didn't happen to you.

I'm late to the thread but I see a link at the top for California wildfires.
