I have a Facebook page that I don't use much and would now prefer to no longer have it.
I would like to eliminate it permanently, but was told that once you create one there is no way to delete it as if it was never
there.
Can anyone help me with this?
Thank you so very much.

Just google Deleting Facebook account and you will find several websites that give you that info.

Good luck.... they make it VERY DIFFICULT to delete an account.

@redhead65, Facebook gives you the option of deactivating (temporary) your account or deleting the account (permanant). Both are fairly siimple.
Here's a link to the complete discussion of both options, including the fact that you can first download your account to your computer if you wish ("How can I download my information from Facebook?" link: https://www.facebook.com/help/212802592074644):
"Deactivating & Deleting Accounts"

This article is a good description of steps you might want to take first, and then how to delete:
"No thanks, Facebook: Here’s how to permanently delete your account"

Or you can use this link to the "Delete My Account" option (of course, you'll have to login to use it):

There is a way to delete it. It never is fully deleted, as FB keeps it somewhere.

@missy1, In some cases, especially if the users didn't go in through the steps and remove some things that have been linked to other Facebook users (example, shared photos, PMs, etc.), some things might continue to appear to be in their account. As a result, their name might show up, but it's not "clickable" and doesn't go to an account (once the account has been removed). For that reason, though, some people like to go in and change their name on their account before they delete it.
My understanding is that Facebook archives all accounts, but I've never seen any definitive clarification as to how long or how much data they keep. I know it's available for use by law enforcement, but not sure about the details. Maybe someone else knows that.

I want to thank every one of you who replied to my request. You went to a lot of trouble to help this ole' gal do what she couldn't do. I really appreciate it very much.
Have a good day! ![]()
