I wonder if questions and info will be skewed. I immediately think of the many surveys I see from politicians and businesses containning questions so skewed there is no way to provide real feedback.

 

Then again, I wonder if they'll even take feedback into consideration. I'll believe it when I see it.

 

Bottom line, there isn't a big corporation in the world that will consider any feedback if it costs them money. 

 

I'm very pessimistic about big corporations. I worked for a huge international corporation for decades and was high enough up to see things from the inside.

 

Corporate hands go out lickity-split when getting government handouts/tax cuts while they lay off people, cut benefits, under-pay people, demand little work/life balance, re-categorize lower level employees so they don't get overtime, etc. etc. 

 

Corporations also cut salaries. At one time, everyone had pay cuts. My job level had a 12% pay cut with promises to get it back later. Nope, they reneged on that too.

 

The list goes on.

I don't see how reaching out to the forums will be very beneficial.  All they have to do is read the forums to determine the biggest irritants but the bottom line is the bottom line.

 

The same complaints about hosts, product quality, prices, shipping, etc. are generally from the same posters and the boards represent a minuscule percentage of their customer base, certainly not large enough to have a major impact on their analysis.

 

Those that reach out on FB are likely more diverse and more representative of the customer base in general so may have a greater impact.

 

Bottom line is if a host, product, etc. meets sales expectations no real changes will be made in regard to programming.  There may be changes to the forums.

What is good for the goose today will also be good for the gander tomorrow.
