Purchasing a car...help!

Hi Everyone!

I was hoping to get ideas of some good places to get a used car. I feel like the budget I have to work with will only get me the absolute bare bones if I go with a new car, and let's face it I would like to have some decent features while I'm driving all over. I definitely don't want to lease. I don't really want to go through Craigslist or anything like that, but I feel like dealerships have a tendency to rip you off. I'm trying to find something good without the hubs help. {#emotions_dlg.scared} I know there's good used cars out there, but where are some of the best places to start? Has anyone really lucked out purchasing a used car? Thanks!!
