We have had mail service just like yours for years. Nothing unusual about it at all for us. Complaints change nothing. Our post office is a training location so we get all the rookies delivering our mail. Sometimes our mail gets here at 8 pm or not at all....most weeks, we get skipped once a week, maybe more. COVID isn’t an issue since our mail delivery problems began long before COVID. We were just out of town for10 days and put a hold on our mail delivery until we returned. We should have had 10 days’ worth of mail delivered yesterday and all we got was three pieces of junk mail. Also, I got no Informed Delivery emails while the mail was on hold so no way to know what mail we are missing. Wish the USPS would go private, but that’s a thread that would be zapped for sure.

@songbird Wow, I thought I was the only one with mail problems. Here in the Gulf Coast our mail at this point is pretty much a joke, and has been so for about a year. There is absolutely no point in expediting one's mail here- it takes at least 4 or 5 days before we ever see it. When I go to my local post office I am struck by the complete apathy of the postal workers. While tending to a customer, if they have any reason to go in the back to check on something, it usually takes 15-20 minutes before they come back. Those of us in line usually joke that they are taking a break. I have stopped being mad about it and try to use any other carrier possible.

I had to send back 2 packages to QVC. Products were defective. Our mail sits at the local post office then twice a week it goes from our post office to another post office in different city then from there it goes to Detroit. I bypassed our local post office and drove to the city where I thought the mail would go out the next day to Detroit. It sat at the post office for 4 days then it took 10 days to get to Detroit which is 10 miles away. It then sat there for 4 days before being shipped out. I probably should have driven to the main office in Detroit. If I ever have to ship something back to QVC because it was the wrong size or I didn't like it, I will ship it in a priority USPS box instead of using the $6.95 label QVC supplies. It would probably even be cheaper.

Problems with mail delivery in part stems from unfortunate changes made to our post office by the Postmaster General. This happened months ago. It is not Covid related.

No, even during the worst of Covid 19 last winter, our mail arrived on it's usual scheduled. Mail delivery schedules do change sometimes. For years, our mail was delivered in the mid morning and then about 2 years ago, it started coming between 2 and 4. Not that it mattered to me, probably no one else either. We have our regular mail delivery but packages are delivered separately by a different delivery person. During the Christmas season, we've had Usps deliver packages as late as 9pm. Same with UPS. Which is why I am going to complete my online and shopping channel Christmas shopping by Saturday. I want everything in the house before the mad rush begins.

@Blackcatmom, if I recall correctly, the prepaid type deliveries are low on the totem pole in terms of efficiency.

I remember hearing abut this in the news.. Then I forgot about it. I bet he bears some responsibility.

We've had the opposite happen....we used to get our mail delivery at 5:30PM.....All of a sudden it changed to 2:30 PM.....At least this carrier's accuracy is pretty good I seldom get other people's mail. But he loves to CRAM packages into our small community mail box....clothes are wrinkled and boxes are crushed for small packages. Since our Mail Center is closed if a package is too big and wont fit in the box he throws it from the sidewalk to my front porch its a wonder a couple things weren't damaged (I accidently caught him doing this).....
But now Im having a problem with UPS/USPS Mail Solutions I had a package shipped from Barnes & Noble on 10/20 and never received it.... USPS said that Mail Innovations never got it...and UPS says they dont know where it is... I called Barnes & Noble and they were very nice and helpful they are sending me a replacement and will consider it lost....they also offered a refund...since these were gifts I chose the replacement but hope UPS/USPS Mail Innovations doesnt mess it up this time---SMH (I wished Barnes & Noble had the books I needed at their store so I could just pick them up but they were only available on line)....Im tired of this UPS handing off to USPS...I bet its at the Mail Innovations Carrolton, TX hand off point where packages normally sit for weeks....![]()

Problems with ours began 5 years before Co-Vid and before recent changes at USPS----everybody was getting everyone else's mail in their box. Also getting other peoples packages and the address wasnt even close to ours.... Mailman did away with our community Out Mail Box.....Ordered stamps online and never got them....And just overall lousy service.... In talking to a former mail person who worked at that USPS branch, her exact words were "my co-workers were a bunch of idiots".....(her words not mine)

@songbird wrote:We started;d getting a sharp change in our mail delivery. It usually happens around this time. Instead of getting mail at our usual time of 2:00PM, we started getting it at 4:00PM then later to 6:00PM. The mailman would come with a flashlight. This started a year ago. I assume it was because of increased traffic toward the holiday. And it was. Afterward our returned to normal. But this time, it has really gotten unusual. In addition to the late delivery, we stopped getting mail everyday. We would get mail on Thursday, but not on Friday or Saturday. We would get all the mail piled up on Monday. So the past 3 weeks have been like this. I get Informed Delivery from them. And I know we have mail coming. We didn't get mail yesterday and I don't know if we will get it today. (so far no) So I have to match up the mail with the what we get to what was scheduled to be delivery. So far, we have gotten all the mail. But I really hate not getting mail everyday.
Is anyone else getting a more unusual mail service? I'm thinking it is happening because of the increased COVID19
Ours has been coming at different times too, and some days when we're supposed to get some, we don't get any.
We have Informed Delivery, too.
You're probably right that it could be due to Covid.
We would normally get our mail about 2:30 p.m., and then it started to come around 4:30, and now it can come as late as around 7:00 p.m.
