@SurferWife - I do it all of the time too. As an English instructor, it has to be perfect!
I also edit for spacing, which is important to me. I got into trouble here not too long ago doing that. One poster thought I had edited my words. I hadn't. I just didn't want my paragraphs running together! LOL! ![]()

I proofread multiple times before I hit post, so I'm really peeved if I see a mistake afterward. Depending on what it is, I might just leave it.

@kitcat51 wrote:Yes & I find many times it's not me it's spell-check...I recently posted in England BA2 was less deadly than the flu & spell-check changed it to EU, the word luck gets changed with a f & so much more. Does anyone know why this happens? My guess is it keeps track of words used by others & assumes that's what you meant too...it's frustrating. And don't get me started with their, there, they're..I use it correctly, it changes, I change it back, it changes again, I change it & quickly hit post...then I have to check the post & make sure I WON, lol. I have a love hate relationship with spell ✔
I realize that some people like the spell check function, and find it helpful, but that sucker has a mind of its own. I am critical enough of my own spelling ... I don't need spell check piling on on top of me, lol.

What REALLY annoys me is when people correct someone elses spelling and grammar on social media. I see it often on these boards. Grr.
That doesn't bother me at all. It may prevent someone else from looking not very smart in a future conversation. Maybe they aren't aware that the word they are using is a poor choice.
Doesn't bother me either, and not sure why it would bother anyone.
Not helping someone out is like seeing someone walk by with a strip of toilet paper stuck to their shoe, and not diplomatically pointing it out, and get that thing off their shoe. Seems rather unkind to just let it pass.
JMO, of course.

Guilty as charged. LOL Being human. I'll take all the above excuses. Works for me.

Absolutely!
I'm often up at 4 AM and if I have something to write on the boards, I'm often typing it around that time. My brain isn't at 100% capacity yet. lol I'm such a stickler for grammar and spelling (judging myself, not others), but I've noticed that I have made plenty of my own mistakes when posting on here. I do believe it's because it's so early though.
I always check what I wrote before I post it, but there are many times when I go back and see errors. I feel compelled to fix them because I am a teacher and I don't want to look bad, but teachers make mistakes too!
Honestly, this is an online forum. It's meant to be fun. I have to learn to loosen up a bit. lol

@Tinkrbl44 Privately letting someone know that they have toilet paper stuck to their shoe is one thing. Publicly announcing to the entire board that a poster has a spelling or grammatical error in their post is another thing. This is not helping one out. It is publicly shaming another person. We all make mistakes, even the self professed grammar police. I've certainly made my share.

While taking issue with the grammar etc of a fellow poster is unacceptable, not caring about one's own posts enough to check for errors with the excuse, it's just a BB, disrespects all those meant to read them.

All. The. Time. LOL!

OK. If you reply to a post and use the same word...
do you misspell it like they did or type it correctly?
My opinion
