In addition to pop-up blocking push notifications should also be turned off.   The McAfee pop-ups are due to push notifications.

What is good for the goose today will also be good for the gander tomorrow.

Ok here's the quickest way to check the site you are on.  Look for the little lock in the beginning of the web addy at the top.  CLICK ON IT please.  The first line should say "connection is secure"  You can click on the little arrow next to it and see that the "certificate is valid".  Also feel free to check your site settings and cookies.  Again there is NOTHING nefarious, scary, dangerous or putting you "at risk" with the PBs.  From what I have seen here is people who have no clue even what their virus protection is on their device, have no clue what it would look like or even how to check for anything.  Ladies please go to the right hand bottom corner of your screen.  See the little arrow pointing up?  Please click on it.  Find your security app. If you are not sure just pass over each icon it will tell you what it stands for.  When you find it click on it.  You will get a "windows security"  window that comes up.  You will see various things you can do. It will tell you the "health and security" of your device and IF any actions are needed.  Please please become more familiar with your device.  And please take a moment to google "McAffee" scams.  The level of misinformation posted through out this thread is alarming.

Scam site?  I do not think so in the slightest @novamc1 Having a ball over there and will be all set when this one shuts down in January.

@beckyb1012Is this true?  In January?   Not trying to be mean or nasty, but I hope this isn't right.  I really like these forums and hope they don't go away.

Originally on their banner "We Heard You,"  it said into the new year.  So that could easily by 1/1/22 at 12:01 a.m.

@sunshine45  You need to go into your settings and block pop-ups.  Some will sometimes still get through.  But it's up to you, your device settings.  I have never got that on the PBs.

@eadu4

i am not having issues. OTHERS are having some issues with this plus others have said on this thread that proboards ( i am assuming the business entity of proboards) is investigating this, so obviously they are concerned also?

What is so nice about ProBoards, only two times I saw the typical "cat fight" that goes on continually here at the Q Boards.  It is always the same two posters with postings in the 30T range...I will not miss that once Q deletes this forum forever.

And once the lights do go out here, those leaving PB now will jump 'back on-board' that very day.  Please don't bother.

no @Patriot3  some people are just guessing or speculating......not sure why these rumors are being spread? no one knows for sure about any of this.

Re: Pro boards a scam site?

[ Edited ]

@Marp @Hi Marp.@I wish I could turn off internet push notifications on my iPad. iPad only lets you turn off push notifications for apps in the settings and lets you decline them if asked if you want to do so. MACS can turn off all push notifications. I keep getting that PIA notification on the PBS. I just go to another page, but it is annoying.
