I just cannot imagine Princess Anne without her horses anymore than I could imagine the Queen without her corgis.
Hopefully she doesn't put herself in danger again, but if she's willing to risk getting hurt again, then oh, well -- it's her life.
After her 1974 kidnapping attempt and she told the kidnapper pointing a gun at her and said to him "not bloody likely" when he was trying to get her out of the back of the car I would imagine Princess Anne will be back up on a horse within a month or so.

It's an aging monarchy and these things (and worse) are bound to happen with more frequency.
They wanted a slimmed down monarchy and they got it. None of the grandchildren (except for maybe Lady Louise and Viscount Severn and they are still children) work for the firm. They make the odd appearance at different events, but don't seem to be heavily involved. Seems like neither Ann nor Andrew wanted it for their kids. I'll be surprised if all 3 of Kate and Will's kids become full time royals. I'm thinking this is all going to end in its current form, with William.

He is fast approaching 80 as is Camilla, The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester are 79 and 78 respectively, Anne is all most 74. William has naturally been preoccupied with Kate's health. So he is now done to Sophie and Edward who are healthy for now.
I guess that he figured that everyone mentioned above would remain healthy until the Wales children grew up. That's a long way off.

William has made every engagement that Charles could not make.

The Princess Royal has sustained minor injuries and concussion following an incident on the Gatcombe Park estate yesterday evening. Her Royal Highness remains in Southmead Hospital, Bristol, as a precautionary measure for observation and is expected to make a full and swift recovery.
The King has been kept closely informed and joins the whole Royal Family in sending his fondest love and well-wishes to The Princess for a speedy recovery.

@Nonametoday Neither attended the Thanksgiving service for the Greek King Constantine. I am not so sure that William attended events early on while Kate was recovering from surgery. This is not to fault him because he needed to be with Kate and the children at this time.

Not likely at all.
James is now the Earl of Wessex, much higher title than a Viscount.

He did not come to the Thanksgiving Service since it was reported that was the day that William and Catherine were told she had cancer. He stayed home with his family.

@beckyb1012 I said that he needed to be with Kate at this time. I also said that I was not faulting him. My comment was in response to a poster who said that William had attended all events that Charles had to miss. I don't think this is correct.

Yes I know what you meant but I wanted the naysayers who always fault the RF to understand exactly why he did not go that day to the service.

At her age, maybe she should be looking for another hobby -- something much safer than being around horses.
Her medical team said her head injuries were consistent with an impact from a horse’s head or legs.
