Pricing varies and can change from day to day on any item. If you've had the item in your cart "for weeks", it's not at all surprising that there was a price increase. Just putting something in your cart doesn't reserve the merchandise or lock in the price for you.

There's a set of Callaway Rouge X irons that I've been looking at and the price has varied by as much as $200. They're not on any kind of sale today. However; the price of security camera I've been interested in has dropped $16.

Prime Day is just another sales gimmick.

Golf Galaxy is having 20% off online today,  not sure if Callaway is included in that,  but theres lots golf discount places,

Yeah, I checked them. They have the clubs I'm interested in, but even with the 20% off today, Amazon is still cheaper. Same with TGW. I appreciate the heads up though.

For the OP, I have been watching an air mattress for camping that was 29.99, and I got it for 17 this morning.  Sorry, but something is not right with your example. Too many good deals.

Prime Days can be great if you're willing to search for deals.  I've gotten great deals for comforters, sheets, and towel sets for family members (especially the ones in college).  Amazon products like echo, echo dot, fire sticks, fire tablets, kindles, etc. are always priced right on Prime Day.

Okay    What's your point?   Prime prices can change within a matter of hours and as has been said a thousand times,  everything on the Amazon platform is not on sale.

you need to know how to play the "incart" game I figured it out sort of last year, now I let stuff sit for 2/3 days then save for later ETA: admitting I will never figure out any of these algorithms,

We aren't meant to know how it works but I figured out a long time ago that putting something in my cart doesn't reserve the price.  I don't why people still think it does.  Go back to your cart even just a few days later and the price could be lower or higher.
