I think it's pretty smart to have pre-recorded shows in the middle of the night. It saves a ton of money and, especially, these shows where there is one item for a whole hour.

SHQ has pre-recorded shows from 11pm (where I am) to about 5am (IIRC). The weird thing about that is that it's a pre-recorded of their 9pm value of the day show played over and over again. Or at least that's the way it looked from the times I tuned in, intermittently, throughout the night.

I don't care for hsn, so I don't know what they do overnight.

I think it makes sense. Wonder if it will cut back people's impulse buying and returning. To me it seems like a major host has left at end of each of the past years starting with Bob bowersox.
