That's why Bob Mackie gave up making items out of silk. The miracle of polyester is that they can make it to imitate just about any other fabric. Nylon could be used but it's hotter than poly.

i don't really care what fabric they use - i just want it to be appropriately priced. Sheesh. Typical of this BB - totally do not read or comprehend the OP then run off with snark about something that is totally off the point. $52 is not APPROPRIATE price for a polyester blouse.

It is an appropriate price for a garment not on sale. At most department store or specialty stores a blouse like this would easily be in the $50 range. Many department stores only give free shipping at $75 or $100.

The difference I see is that other stores would put the garment on sale and slash the price, unlike QVC that keeps an item in inventory for yearS.

Take at look at some of the bridge items in the better department stores. Polyester is not a cheap fabric. Price it in a fabric store.

I agree too much $. Qs prices are over the top. I can find clothing here for HALF the prices theyre charging lately.

I like GS and have a couple of blazer jackets from his early Q days but I returned a couple of tops last year, IMHO his prices have gone up and quality down.

Kind of Minnie Pearl looking to me.

This reminds me of the thread a few days ago, 'I'm not really seeing it'.

Re: Pretty George simonton top but...

Back in the 80's my dear grandmother was the double knit poly queen. She loved poly pantsuits........they were easy for her to care for and durable. For years I didn't buy poly items but I wear poly blends and some poly items especially for work in the office. Poly is easy to care for and less pricy than some fibers. The Q prices are not bad compared to B&M stores unless the B&M has a great sale - 50 percent off & free shipping. Natural fibers are so wonderful - cotton, linen, wool - but the cost and care are expensive.....so I am ok with poly! My DGM would be happy.....

I hope you can get it in the fall. I too bristle at times at the cost of some things and will wait for things to go on clearance. If I really love something though and think it will sell out in my size, then I just buy it. One thing I've learned....if you don't buy something in a timely manner from when it was first shown, you run the risk of getting a customer return and I just hate that....paying full price for a customer return when it should be the as-is price.

The reviews indicate the top has been around for at least 4 years. It doesn't look like it's going anywhere soon.
