@cowboy sam : I am praying this is what I need. Wish I could get the blood work done but don't see my primary care doctor until November 8th. 

I am researching keto low carb and low calorie but all info wants you to purchase books or supplements and I was looking for something like a chart or list. Really don't want to purchase anything until I see the nutritionalist.  I have started a Walmart order for salad ingredients and chicken and fish.

Just recently purchased a silicon microwave bowl to pop popcorn and use less ingredients like butter and salt .I was told the white kernel corn is better.

Plus stressed that I need to drink more water and probably will order some type of zero flavor to use.

I just found my ankle weights to wear and ordering some crew socks to wear because doesn't feel good on my bare legs. 😀😀

About the Keto diet...

my neighbor that i walk with,she  and her dh went on this diet...buys keto foods,etc...but eats no bread  or only keto  bread/ foods  and can't remember everything about it.....she lost about 50 pounds 

 

but when they went on 2 different vacations  and ate regular food  again she has gained some weight back she has told me....

 

so if you want to buy   only foods recommended for it  your  weight might go down...but  its when she went back to eating  normal foods well you gain it back....its a life choice ??..sigh...

 

Me, i  would rather watch what i eat  plus walk/exercise  and lose it normally...just eating less in moderation  for me.

 

If you can afford it i think new place is perfect for your health problems  and their guidence.

from what i understand and i havent done any kind of extensive research

keto is very low carb and hi in proteins and fat

 

much like many other diets that want you to eat less carbs

i guess eating more fish and chicken would be beneficial 

 

less pasta - rice - omgosh - the sweet desserts and salty snacks are my downfall

@cowboy sam : Your idea is the best to eat in moderation and exercise. My problem is the bread, pasta and sweets.

A few years ago , one of DH doctors wanted us to do the Atkins diet and quickly dropped 25 pounds but struggled trying to transition to the next phase and sadly regained double weight.🤗🤗

@Yahooey : You are correct on the keto  information. The doctor stressed for me to do low carb but also focus on low fats and extra protein. I know that a lot of low fat stuff is higher in sugar and prefer to eat less of the good stuff. So this will be interesting.

This morning didn't drink any coffee because I normally do the decalf medium roast coffee and add my decalf cappuccino mix that has too much sugar. All I had available to eat for breakfast was muffins,Cheerios or shredded wheat so was busy researching instead.

DH brought me lunch that included three baked chicken legs and I removed the skin, two servings of green beans with potatoes and I didn't eat the potatoes and a small side salad. I was afraid that SIL would be texting me and asking questions. Dinner will be interesting. I am still trying to finish my Walmart order. Let the fun begin.😊😊😊😊
