@cowboy sam @geezerette @PamfromCT @4kitties @Yahooey. I appreciate your prayers. Didn't return home yesterday until after 4 p.m. The nurse told me before going back for the surgery that I would only feel "pressure". I felt more than that. I didn't scream but replied ouch several times and the doctor replied and I was doing good. I felt them putting the thing in to keep the eye open. I felt two times like pulling something out. I don't remember them putting the shield or eye patch on. Told to do the eye drops, no bending over,  no heavy lifting for a week. No rubbing of eye and careful not to get water or shampoo in eye. Told to wear the shield or eye patch for a week. My doctor called last night at 8 p.m but I was in the bathroom. About 1:30 a.m. the eye was really itching. I put both hands under my hips.

While in the preop area for over an hour: hips and lower back really hurting even though they had put pillows under my legs etc. The anesthesiologist stated that she couldn't give me anything for pain because my blood pressure was rising and didn't have extra help to monitor me but promised she would give me pain and anxiety medication when we were in the operating room. I was doing a lot of praying.

Afterwards , friend and I went to Arby's and agreed to eat in the car.  Never thought that I would be struggling to find my mouth. Friend started laughing and stated she had never seen anyone trying to feed the nose with a sandwich. She then helped me eat and everything.

Follow up appointment this afternoon: No trouble seeing during the eye test. Reading test able to read almost to the bottom of the page. Doctor was very excited about the results. Eye site really improved but can't remember the numbers He stated he was thankful that I chose the special lens. Stated my eye site will continue to improve.

I'm so happy to hear that your eye surgery was a success!  Take it easy now and don't strain your body or your eyes.  You don't want any complications.

I'm sure the second surgery will go better now that you know what to expect.  I know when I'm nervous about the unknown I can make things worse for myself.  Now you know it will be uncomfortable for a while, but you can get through it.  And just think how wonderful it will be to see good again!  That will make your life so much easier.
