Hi All!

There was a post on the main page re posters who have passed.

I always thought Preds lived alone and took care of herself.

But another poster corrected me and said she had a husband and a daughter to take care of her.

I always thought she was on her own.  Could someone please help me remember?  It was rather embarassing.  I do not smoke or drink - how could I be so confused?  It was Bri369

on "Missing ECB and other members of the forum family."

who corrected me.  Thank you, Pam

Re: @Preds ❤️

[ Edited ]

Greetings, ⭐️Preds⭐️ and Friends!❤️

I'm sorry to have been missing for so long.

I had major abdominal surgery last week, and now I'm finally home and gratefully resting and recuperating, and I feel hopeful the outlook is good.

My medical team has been absolutely wonderful -- I can't say enough good things about them -- and although this road has been long and difficult I think we're turning a corner.

Didn't want to miss the chance to offer my deep, profound gratitude for all of the incredibly kind people here who have lifted me up with your love, prayers, positive energy, and most gentle and healing friendship.

If I tried to list everyone, the list would go on for pages, might put a halt to the forum, and even then I fear I'd omit someone...   please know all of your grace and light is appreciated.

You are appreciated.

A wise and compassionate person I've followed for years, a Native American elder, author, and retired Episcopal bishop from Alaska, offered this blessing to everyone for the new year last year and I wish to send it to you again... yes, you, the lovely spirit who is reading this right now.

"As you step over the threshold of time into a new year, receive this blessing:

May health return to you if it has been absent and abide with you if it is present.

May the challenges you face be easier than you imagined and the surprises you discover more joyful than you expected.

May your love touch many lives and your compassion offer hope to even more.

May peace surround you like the hours of a day and wisdom guide you with eyes that watch over you and never close." --Steven Charleston

My love to all who read and post here.❤️

@dooBdoo

What a wonderful surprise to hear from you and to also hear you are doing so well.  As much as you have been through, the news that you have turned a corner and are on your path to wellness is a gift we have all wishes for you.

Your quoted blessing is so touching.  You can be sure you are wished the same in return, and everyone will be looking forward to your posts about your progress.  The world needs more people like you!

Love to you!

@cowboy sam : Happy New Year to you and your family.

I was in the kitchen cooking most  of the day yesterday. Me misplacing things is bad. I turned around and could not find the dish cloth that I was using. Seriously. I had put a plastic bag on one side of my sink to put all my trash in and after 10 minutes found my dish cloth in the plastic bag.🙄 I had sorted and washed my dried black eyed peas to put them on to soak. I then mixed up a dry rub for my ribs and putting them in the pressure cooker to cook.

I still haven't found my gift cards. Found DH missing Texas Road House gift card and thought while looking would find mine.

Also on line yesterday trying to find a bigger and safer non skid outdoor mat for the front door. SIL came over yesterday. She helped measure for the mat and when received will clean the front porch and furniture. Past due cleaning for the front porch.

DD and family planning to visit 1/18/25 . Informed on Monday that we have a granddog, he is a therapy dog for her fiance. He is a boxer and named  Duke. I asked for a photo and he is so cute. DH has known this for several months but forgot to tell me.🙄😯

The fireworks in the neighborhood started yesterday afternoon and this year using more and sound bigger and more powerful or however to describe them.😯🙄 I was wearing my back brace but still hurting my back whenever they exploded.

Our menu for today: Corn bread, Chow chow relish from Cracker Barrel, collards, black eyed peas, potato salad from McAllister's Deli, BBQ ribs and red velvet cake.

I have ingredients to make Chex  Mix and hope to get it made to snack on while watching  foot ball. I haven't made the Chex Mix  in years.

Enjoy your day.🤗❤🙏

@SouthernBee

Boy, your menu sounds delicious.  And it was so nice to invite all Preds folk over your house for dinner!  When should we arrive?

I do think my tendency and yours is due to one thing - we are always thinking ahead and not concentrating on the present.

What do you think?

Your upcoming visitors sound like a good time for you.  My uncle nad a dog named "Duke," and he was a great dog.

We had no fireworks last. Ifht, but we were on the fringe of a bad storm coming through.  The thunder was so bad it shook the house a bit.  Wuz we scared!  Even my DH was shook up.

Never, ever remember that happening before.

Take care!

Pam

Happy New Year!

Praying this will be a good year for all!

And I am hoping to see some pics of Paris, so we all can dream.

And how wonderful to hear good news about DooBdoo!

Love,

Pam
