@dooBdoo : So good to see your post. We love you ❤ and miss you. Praying that you are doing good.

Wonderful idea about quilts. I have a church friend that makes quilts.

I have something special to tell you about quilts. I have one of my BigMama quilt that was falling apart. After much prayer, special idea. Put part of the quilt in a shadow box. We have a 1\2 bath in the den that I call my bathroom. On this bathroom wall decided to put photos of my mother, her mother -  BigMama ,my Nannie- my Dad's mother, and other special people that helped me and the shadow box with the quilt. I will try to post photo later. ❤🙏🤗🤗🤗

Thank you, dear @SouthernBee!  I love and miss all of you, too!❤️

What a unique and meaningful transformation for the quilt!  It's hard to let go of those tangible keepsakes that hold such memories.  I love your idea.

My Bigmama made beautiful quilts and assuming other family members had the best ones. The two in photo were the only ones in our house. The photo above the shadow box quilts : Bigmama, Mama and me.

I tried to straighten the frames ,but difficult standing.

Lovely, @SouthernBee!  Thank you for sharing this!❤️

A big hello to all friends here!

Been a while since I posted here, but glad everyone is ok!

This has been a crazy summer for us - DH had surgery, then other issues.  Started with a small scab in his ear, and so glad we did not ignore.  Took three treatments to get things right, but he is fine.  No cancer worries.  Ignore nothing, as I say.

Still cleaning out stuff, accumulated over so many years.  Trying to get some more insulation put in our attic.  But, of course, that means getting rid of a mountain of stuff stored up there.  We trash the trash and donate frequently to the Vietnam Vets, who come with a truck.

Love hearing about everyone's exploits!  Sounds like all is going well with all, and that makes me so happy.

Now we are preparing our vacation.  To the Cape, one of our favorite places on the planet.  Stay in a small house in quiet wooded area, but know where we can go to have fun.  Dip our toes in the surf, as we so scared of sharks.

Wake up every morning and thank the Lord for another day.  Our family is doing well, and we are as well as we can be at our ages.  And happy to see everyone here is doing well!

Always much to be grateful for!  See y'all in a while!

Best wishes, Pam

Re: @Preds ❤️

[ Edited ]

@Yahooey : So sorry for the delayed response. Processed  opened pepper jelly last in the fridge for a month. Processed pepper jelly stored in pantry for a year.

          Southern Bees Pepper Jelly Recipe

Makes: 13  of the 4 Ounce Jars for Gifts

15 to 25 Hot Peppers. If peppers are large use about 10 to 15.

1/3 Cup Water

 3     Cups Vinegar

5     Pounds Sugar ( add and taste first)

   2     Bottles of Certo

Prepare peppers. Put peppers and water in blender or chopper, blend until fine. Put peppers in a large pot to prevent boil over. Add vinegar and sugar . Bring to boil and boil for 5 minutes.Add : Red or Green Food Coloring. Remove from heat and strain. Add: 2 Bottles Certo. Put in 4 ounce jars . Process in water bath for 5 minutes. Remove and place on towel. Let set until you hear all the jars seal with a pop. Serve with soften cream cheese and pour pepper jelly on top of cream cheese. ( I put pepper jelly in microwave for 3O seconds.) Serve with favorite crackers. My group prefers Town House and Ritz crackers. Co worker gave me this recipe in 1978.

My modified recipe: I use 6 1/2 cups of sugar with 20 Large Hot Peppers. I prefer to taste the peppers and not overly sweet. Enjoy!

Edited to add: I  use the Sure Jell and follow the package directions. The bottle of Certo can be difficult to find.Screenshot_20240822-164101_kindlephoto-179293741.png
