@SouthernBee,  No matter where you go, almost whatever you are buying, it is a shock to get the bill.  But you and your DH deserved a treat - so glad you did.  I really hope you get relief as soon as possible.  love ya!

@PamfromCT : Thank you. It is so sad that the price of everything is increasing. My meal price had increased $6, but I really wanted something different. I have really been eating a lot of salads with grilled chicken, back to regular schedule tomorrow.

I agree about cost of eating out now...but i love being with friends..andprefer to only go 3 or 4 times a week..and try to order meals to have left overs to take home for my next meal...so 2 meals for price of 1...."bu"t sometimes its not a big meal  and i have no left overs!

 The  last  time I ate out Friday  and am eating  less over the weekend  and eating chicken salad,potato salad,etc .

Today pancake sis said she was not going out to eat...but maybe her neighbor friend will call me...if not i'll enjoy another day eating food from my full freezer....i will not starve..lol!

I was getting talking to my neighbor friend as we were getting ready to go for a walk  when new neighbor guy  stoppedin his pickup truck to talk to us.

Our mail lady had talked to him to see if he would like to get his mail delivered? or get it at post office?

One option he was told was..... to ask me for permission to put a post with his mailbox next to mine....i agreed .

He told me that he would try to still use my post ,take my mailbox off  and add another board for both of ours  plus give me a "new mailbox"!!!

What a good deal...i need a new mailbox....plus he will put our house numbers on each box!

After our chat he drove off...and neighbor friend  and i had a nice long walk....but  it  was so humid out..i needed a shower as soon as i got in my house!

@cowboy sam : Totally agree and understand. The groceries we order are different but still expensive. We order things like fruit to snack on and cans of caffeine coke for me and any other items on sale. I keep a supply of his  favorite snacks like chips, crackers and surprise him with one of his favorite bar cakes from the bakery : the strawberry or the carrot cake. Yesterday, DH wanted me to order what we needed from Sam's club. We needed cases of water, toilet paper, Kleenex and his coffee supplies, laundry items  because we hadn't ordered in two months.Wow, price increases.  But his coffee k cups  had $6 off  and decided to order extra . He drinks at least 7 cups  per day- no sugar just creamer.We placed two orders. We each paid for order. Total like $250.

Poor DH is disappointed, he was looking forward to getting out and eating lunch with his sister today but she cancelled on him and she has been doing that a lot lately. I will be placing two different grubhub  orderes  today because I need a good big salad and he wants something else, so probably another expensive meal day.

We received our pre bill for the property tax due in October. I was shocked we live in a very basic neighbourhood with government houses built in 1966. We purchased our house for $89,000 in 2002 but remodel in 2017 for $55,000 adding the garage, family room and kitchen remodel. The house value is now $124,000 and property tax increase to $999. So when I got paid on Friday put $200 in savings account to start for property tax. Then DH had the nerve to mention Christmas.🙄😯

DH decided to stay home. He needs to do laundry and a few extra things for me. Sorry for the rambling and ranting. Just like everyone else have a lot on my mind and dealing with alot. I really do not have anyone to talk to. My few friends are staying busy and rarely call or visit. Sister in law hasn't been over .🤗❤🙏🙏🙏☕☕☕ . And for you, @cowboy sam  enjoy your pop or cola.

It is hot here, currently 78 and predicted high of 87 . I am sitting in my recliner and hot with my back wet.

Dh went back to sleep and snoring.

morning - today is a new day.... no waiting for packages - yay!

fedex called me today - i told him that i said the issue was resolved via the case i opened online - he asked if i was able to get the package from the storefront

i never said that to fedex - i just hit the prompt - package was located and case closed

so the driver must enter more info when packages are delivered

he said - he will tell the driver to notify me if package is left with neighbor

duh yes - if a signature is required (paid extra) 

you do NOT drop off the package randomly and sign my name (spelled incorrectly)

and not notify the recepient

chives w/flowers - i have grown them for a few years and first time i got flowers

the 2nf od my preds peony opened - this smelled heavenly - each time i pass a whiff of loveliness envleop me - the fragrance is much nicer than the first flower (shhh)

waiting for the last pred peony to open - it never bloomed before and it has only 1 bud

Waving To All Of Preds' Friends...

Checking in to see what is going on with all of you...Family drama has been taking up lots of my  time...Sister and two daughters are dealing with some personal issues and I am doing my best to be there for them and help in any way I can;  however, there are times when they go against each other and need to be reminded of the love and support that they have always shared in the past and not allow anything to get in the way of that.

Meanwhile, my husband's cousin and wife came up to visit family for a week....They live in New Mexico, so it has been a while since we have all seen each other...They are staying in a hotel centrally located so that they can visit all family members and be within a reasonable distance...There was a family get-together....a cook-out at another cousin's home in MA and it was great to see everyone and catch up with each other.

Hobo is doing good...However, I am concerned about increasing upsets he has been having, due to kidney disease and pancreatitis which is very common in elderly cats...His vet is wonderful and giving him the best care...included an anti-nausea medication, but I use it just sparingly when needed...He said that for an elderly cat, he is doing quite well considering his condition when he first came to our home...He is getting lots of attention, loving care and lubs. 🥰

@SouthernBee ...So sorry that you continue to deal with so many health challenges...In reading your posts, I wanted to add that you can always tell who your real friends and family are during those times when you need their support and help the most...I am so sorry that they aren't there for you...They should hang their heads in shame...Let us know how the Visiting Nurse visit goes...Sending (((((Hugs)))))

@cowboy sam ...Your new neighbor sounds very nice...How thoughtful of him to make a new mailbox station for you both to share...I have to ask if you have put your turtle family out for the season...My duck family... Mama Daisy, Huey, Louie and Dewey... are now  nestled in our front landscaped area greeting everyone as they go by. 😊

@Yahooey...Your cabinets are lovely...clean lines and very sleek...great choice...perfect for a small kitchen area....Once your counter tops and appliances are installed, your kitchen is going to be gorgeous....Looking forward to the completed project, including your lovely lighting fixtures in your dining and living areas...hope to see some pictures...Can I ask...do you live in a Brownstone?...I've always loved the look of those in the City.

I will check into Ryan Gosling's latest movie...The Fall Guy...I'm not usually into action movies but, for Ryan, I'm willing to take it into serious consideration..🥰

i do not live in a brownstone - they are gorgeous though

yes - my kitchen is a very small space - i tried to be mindful when choosing

it will work for me - sure isn't like any of the HGTV shows where they all have 10 ft islands and all that counter space + walk i pantry

you will enjoy GOSLING in the fall guy - that's the way it should be presented

it is just fun

i know you have critters in your nexk of the woods = are you able to plant anything?

i love to see the plants thriving and emerging - teeny flowers with teeny maters
