@SouthernBee, I know all the problems you have been enduring, and I feel so sorry for all you are enduring.

I genuinely feel that your need more and better help than what you are getting.

I do agree with the suggestion that you should see a cardiologist.  And sincerely, you should seek a new family doctor.  It might be well to speak to your pharmacist to advise what you are allergic to.  So, I'm the meantime, it is really negligent for your doctor to prescribe meds that you are allergic to.

This is not only terribly uncomfortable, it is not good for your

general health.  People change doctors all the time.  Remember yosir doctor should be caring for you, which he is being well paid for.  I have fired a doctor or two in my time.  All you have to do is get a new one.  You only have one body, and I feel badly you are not getting the care you deserve.

All my best,

Pam

@SouthernBee, Excellent idea, Bee.  Just be sure to make sure she knows you are needing a new one now.  And it would not hurt to get a recommendation for a cardiologist, as well.

That is how I got my present cardiologist.  Saw my old one, was very nervous about his ideas.  I had an appointment with another specialist already scheduled, and I asked her for a recommendation.  So glad I did.  New doc is in a good sized practice, young, and up on everything.  My DH also switched to him.  What a relief!

Just me, but I believe everyone over a certain age should have a cardiologist.  If an emergency happens, I do not want to be treated by an intern in the ER. And I want to know the best hospital to go to.  Living in the burbs, we are very lucky to have three hospitals in Hartford.  There is one noted for their heart care.  That is where I would want to go if something hits the fan.

Sad to say, I saw an obituary for my old cardiologist.  He was 75, not particularly old to pass, but was well into his 70s when he was still practicing and doing procedures.  No, should have retired.  No wonder I was worried about his plans for me.

Best of luck to you, our Sweet Bee.  Better days are coming.

Be like me - I tell folks I have a doctor for every body part!!
Keeps ''em laughing, but it is true!  Love ya!

@dooBdoo, I forgot to mention that I still remember Preds.  I remember the crushing moment when she said she knew she would never get to ring that bell, that her cancer would never be cured.  Like a knife to the heart, I will always remember.  She was so brave.  Someone I never met, yet such a terrible loss that she is gone from the earth.  I do believe, however, that we will all be together again.  Love to all here.

❤️Poignant, eloquent, post, @PamfromCT.
My eyes filled with tears.  I'm catching up, reading posts since my last reply...  gosh, your reminiscence transported me back.

How we all miss her early morning presence, powerfully inspirational spirit.

I admired her so much...  I also admire and appreciate all of you who read and post on this thread.

All of you are part of my daily gratitudes.❤️

@cowboy sam @SouthernBee @Yahooey @dooBdoo,

A big hello to everyone - and forgive me if your name is not here - And sending love and light to all!

Cowboy Sam - I am not much behind you in years, but after reading of your experience with your DD, remember something.  Being a mother is tough.  Always something.  So many years back, a friend said "Nobody ever told me this motherhood thing was a lifetime sentence."  Always stuff.

Always something to worry about.  My DH does not worry.

@Southern Bee, Wishing I could help you.  One thought I had re your dinner meal.  Why not buy some of the Healthy Choice Cafe Steamers for your meals?  Low in calories, high in protein, fast in the microwave?  You can add veggies alongside, or maybe a salad.  Much healthier than what DH brings home.  I use that for a quick meal.  Trying to lose weight, trying to eat healthy, but sometimes just want quick and easy. I am sorry to hear of your struggles!

@dooBdoo, I wish I had a magic wand to help you feel better.

When I am distressed, I do find some relief being out in nature.  So much beauty, fresh air - it seems to ground me.

At my core, I go into my spiritual life.  Just me, not being preachy.  If it is quiet and I pray, one of my "Jesus Calling" books, it helps.  Again,  to not preach, but what has helped me.

And I will distract myself by watching documentaries on tv.  I

love the Discovery, History, and Science channels.  I am a visual learner.  Do not know if you are.  Exercise, if you can.

A walk, stuff you can do inside, maybe can help.  Please do not be insulted.  There are no easy fixes out there.  I am an expert in nothing.

I told my DH, at my advanced age, I want to write my obit.

Short and simple.  I am a very ordinary person and have lived an ordinary life.  In our Sunday paper, I do read obits.  some get cray-cray.  Like, who cares if I was a Girl Scout cookie mother!!

@Yahooey, You have such a gift for gardening.  I admire that so much.  I never have.  You are such a great cook.  I did try, cooked for my poor family for years, never will known for my cooking.  You do seem to be an active person, and I admire that.  I am sure you have some hard days, but you seem to have the zip that I have zapped.

My little GC, as I have mentioned, are doing well.  My GS, at 16, well over 6 feet, weight 155, does well in track.  My GD,

quite the little artist and dancer, 12 years old, amazes me.

Both are good students.  How did we get so lucky?  Their parents work so hard, and sacrifice so much for these kids.

They have pets, always have, and love animals.  Of course, their dog, Apollo, loves me.  Oh boy, he is a puff,  such a big Rottie. Always in my face, wanting to play when he sees me.
They are now fostering two dogs at a time, trying to ready them for adoption.  My DIL works, but my DS luckily has a job that allows him to work at home.  Computer age, happy to have no long commute that he once had.  A very very busy household.

My DD and SIL have very demanding jobs.  Married late in life. No kids, but two spoiled kitties.  His dad passed last summer after years of fighting complications of COVID.  They were wonderful to him.  My heart hurts when I think of what Tony went through.  He loved my DD as his own. He was special, and I will always miss him.

And, of course, Mr. Winston keeps us laughing.  He rules this house.  He is a strong personality, but such a love bug.  Sits on laps, and quite the kisser.  A schmoozer.  From humble beginnings at the shelter to the life of a prince.

Take care all. Love and wishes for your happiness.  Will be back.

Thank you for your insights, @PamfromCT.  I think you sound like an expert!  I would never be insulted by your comments, so please never worry.

Much of what you suggest is part of the education and therapy I've had over the years since my first hospitalization for depression and the associated perilous thought processes.  You're spot on, smart!😊  And a good friend, too.❤️

@PamfromCT : My DH has a good cardiologist and she is good. If my doctor on the 10th says I need to see one I will call and hope she is accepting new patients.🤗❤🙏

Hi Y'all: Well paying for convenience is expensive. DH not feeling good so decided to place lunch order with grubhub. Of course DH wanted McDonald's and he is a big eater. I didn't want McDonald's but I was hungry.I wanted Mongolian chicken so ordered different place. Embarrassed to admit that our lunch was $50. 🙄😯

DH slept until 12:30 because I kept him up until 2 a.m.

In addition to my back, my right hip was really hurting. It hurt worse if my right leg was stretched out staight. Because of my swollen legs, I couldn't  pull my leg up and bend my knees, and I couldn't keep my legs in that position without DH help and placing a blanket under my knees and a rolled up blanket next to my hip. I was doing a lot of praying and didn't go to sleep until after 4 a.m.

I haven't eaten Mongolian Chicken since being diagnosed with ulcerative colitis so praying for no tummy troubles.I didn't eat all the rice and removed the onions.

Enjoy your day.🤗❤🙏🙏🙏
