@cowboy sam : Totally agree and understand. Two friends gave up the land line and regret that decision. My cable, phone and internet with WOW. Everything is getting expensive and complicated.

Spent a lot of time this morning trying to order groceries on line. I was on the Winn Dixie  and Publix sites trying to put items in each carts to compare prices and both had website issues.

No, I don't have internet with Dish, just the satellite TV.

My internet is from a local company.  We did have better internet come through here about a year ago and I had them run the lines on my property but I didn't sign with them. My internet now isn't fast, but it's good enough for what I use it for and the price doesn't go up.  And if I have questions I can call the local office and get a real live person to talk to!

I don't spend money on a lot of things that other people do, so having the satellite tv is something I'm willing to splurge on.

I did give up my landline a few years ago.  My husband had always wanted to keep it, but I dropped it after he died.  I didn't want to, but it had gotten so expensive and it was getting less reliable than my cell phone.  It was the old copper lines run into the house and they aren't maintaining them anymore.  Nobody around here has a landline anymore either.

I know what you mean about everything getting more complicated.  I'm cutting down more and more.  Not only because of the expense, but because so much is so complicated to get accomplished anymore.  And I just don't care about a lot of the same things I used to either.  My priorities have changed.

@geezerette : Totally agree. I am looking at a lot of things and considering if more changes are needed. Today on my tablet - deleted 3 apps. On my email notifications decided to unsubscribe to several sales sites.

Hi Y'all. I just used the patient portal for my orthopedic doctor to ask a question. Several people suggested that I should be taking collagen and vitamin d 3. Also asked about brand, amount and how often. The response will be interesting since my experience with doctors- they don't recommend supplements. Wait and see.

My n/p has given me ok on most all supplements,i told her when walking i take a bottle of water with me and put  some flavored electrolytes in water...she told me that was ok  and mentioned brands  that i have been using. ..lol

She is supporting my walking as often as i can...for my heart, and bones..etc.

I had my lower doseage of thyroid pills in  my mail today to start back on tomorrow. Took my last of the 3 pills today. for my UTI....its really working for me.

Now my story for a :"senior" this morning moment...

Turned computer on but not acting right so i took the 2 AAA batteries out and replaced them.....still couldn't type anything!Smiley Sad

I ran computer security programs ...nothing showed!😣

Next unplugged computer for 15 min...plugged back in..still couldn't type anyrhingSmiley Mad🤐

Then i opened back of keyboard once again...and put each battery in different postion, closed back up....then tried typing.

and it worked!Smiley LOL  sigh..😲  they had been inserted in wrong postion🙃

I then decided i wanted some frozen Banquet frozen meals

 .o i walked to grocery store...think i bought maybe 10 ...

then found  a pkg store frozen corndogs,

 pack of 8

and  a pkg of their frozen BBQ chicken wings...!

Uh..i barely got my freezer bag zipped  and carried homeSmiley LOL

Tired of eating resturant meals 4 or 5 days a week for 5 months!Smiley Frustrated

For lunch

i heated a corndog, split it in half, put on wheat bread  and added Baby Rays sweet BBQ sauce...yummy!

More rain later...humity is 72% temp id 72  and getting very cloudy

@cowboy sam : Just received response on my patient portal and said ok to try collagen and vitamen d3 but didn't recommend  any brands. More research, darn.

Wonderful that your UTI is better.

🤓🤓🤓🤓 Your senior moments, but understand because mIne are more frequent.🙄😯

I understand about the food eating and ready for something different. I am having problems reducing calories and salt since not able to cook. Today's lunch was better. I had roasted chicken and removed the skin. Baked potato and small salad. Only bad calorie  item was the honey butter croissants, but delicious.

Greetings dear Preds and Preds' Friends!❤️
I've been popping in on threads with odds and ends of posts that I hoped might help answer questions (mostly tech-related) but still having trouble communicating the way I'd like to be able to do.

Hard to explain... those of you who have tussled with depression likely can understand the complexity of emotions and sometimes-halting, sometimes-difficult communication, although I know it can be a very different journey for each of us.
My therapist retired a while back and I haven't yet found someone with the kind of connection I had before -- but I will! 😊👍

Every time I've moved over the years I encountered this change, so I know it just takes time to find the right fit.

And I think we might be put in these situations so we can benefit from new perspectives and new ways of healing.

I've been going back and revisiting some of the incredibly valuable education, tools, and therapy I received during my hospital inpatient psych stays, and that's helping.

It also reminds me with a kick in the you-know-what 😛🤭😉 that I haven't been putting to use those tools consistently to help myself.

I have a dear friend from 'way back who's a gifted therapist, and we've had some great conversations.

And I recently re-connected with a couple of pals also from years ago and we've shared some major laughter about things we used to get ourselves into...  isn't it something, the healing power of laughter?

Probably a good reminder to dwell in love as much as we can, do our best to seek out and invite joy, even if in small wee tiny bits and pieces.

We've had some major storms and power outages and I know y'all have had this, too.

I pray for all of those who have been in these storms' paths, also keeping everyone in mind, in heart, in prayers as new storm seasons come to meet us.

I've been reading the posts and my heart goes out to all of you, knowing what you're working through.❤️

I also am thankful that each of you comes here every day, or most days, to share your lives, your kind spirits, your joy, your giggles and grins when you see the silliness and goofiness in this puzzling world...

You have such grace, such generosity.❤️

What a gift you give to all of us who might not be as communicative but who are always overjoyed to see your posts (and also the hearts from those friends who are "peeking in!").

dancingstar.gifPreds would be so proud of you all.

In my heart I see her looking down at us, Preds our morning star dancingstar.gif who was always here in the wee small hours of the morning, and sharing her stardust and light...  and smiling with such love.

She posted this.

I think it sparkles with her essence and spirit:
