Trick or treating fizzled by 6 pm.  No more big groups of kids or a steady stream of kids coming to the door.  A lot has changed.

Our hours were 5-7!

Between 5-6  i had maybe less than 20 ! 

right at 7 a car pulled in and a boy got out  and i gave him candy....then 0!

Neighbor was running out of packages of small rice crispes  treats...later she brought me over last one..and  I told her to take a big handful of toostie rolls...should have given her all of left over bag! I won't eat them

Now we start the month of

"November"

and "Thanksgiving!"

I have a lot to be thankful of....

thanks to  special doctors for saving my  63 year old sons life in March.

today is overcast and dreary

had a hankering for spaghetti & meatballs

so i'm defrosting my homegrown tomato sauce 

and i had some homemade pork meatballs defrosting

fresh focaccia is on the menu - waiting for the 1st rise

everyone is welcome

2 squirrels are having a ball in my fluffy soil

i was really close since they are not skeered of me unless i start running toward them

they dug and rub the paws together - washing? like a bird in sand? idk

i remember they were digging like fiends when i fed them in the fall in the park-

but there were oak trees and i assume they were hiding the nuts and were NOT paying attention to me - the one w/peanuts

Meatballs and spaghetti - yummy!  

I have no knowledge on squirrel behavior.  I'm still shocked that they peeled the tomato skins off.
