Morning all....@cowboy sam @geezerette @Drythe @SouthernBee @PamfromCT @Mj12 @Bri369 @Witchy Woman @loveschocolate
Trying not be be unhappy about the cold, but I worry about too many things --- people and critters -- that are not warm and cozy....
I have a lot to do, but no motivation to get moving. I need sun and above freezing to feel happy ![]()
One of those days!

Nothing special, but we have a standing "card date" with my husband's sister and grown nephew at the family farm.
They all love games and cards, so I have learned to fit in even though I didn't do either thing growing up.
Will cook a big pan of Chicken Divan for our dinner and we will brave whatever weather comes our way. DH doesn't let snow stop him most of the time and is a good driver.
Me? I worry endlessly about every snowflake on the road.
Hope everyone has a relaxing day ![]()

@SouthernBee wrote:@Bri369 : One item that I am worried about. This was a beautiful diamond art craft print. A church member was selling them and my friend gave me one. It was very large . The frame was rustic but look like used construction paper to what you call it- background framing. I really didn't have space in my room to hang it. The space my friend chose was where I finally hung my mother's portrait Plus this framed print was as large as my mother's portrait. 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️. Then I thought if I continue to hang or display items the two friends will continue to gift similar stuff that I don't want or need.
Don't display something you aren't happy with. It's your home and you live in it. Donate it, and maybe they'll get the hint to stop giving you things like that.
Interesting that after Christmas my two friends were vising and they both give me items like this. The one that gave me this big frame: Stated - please listen: I will be downsizing to a smaller house next year: I do not want or need any home decor items. I spoke up and said: I don't want to hurt y'all feelings but I have been telling y'all the same thing for the last two years . Please I prefer that we stop exchanging any gifts. Let's just do lunch. I didn't give them anything this last Christmas. It will be interesting to see what happens.
Lunch is a much better idea than a painting you don't want to hang. LOL
who saw the epiosde on Big Bank Theory where Amy commission a portrait of herself with her bestie Penny
I remember that episode. Such a funny show. The portrait was so big. LOL

Are you ready for more snow late afternoon today?
lubs ya!
She's feeling better. No temp, and she hasn't taken any meds since Thursday. I feel comfortable with her coming out of her room. But we are all masked.
No, I'm not ready for more snow. Ugh

Cards sound like fun. We always play cards and games too.
What is Chicken Divan? Sounds yummy on a cold day.

I think I first saw Chicken Divan in an old Betty Crocker cook book. I believe it was a way to use up cooked chicken.
My version is a large layer of chopped broccoli covered with cubed, cooked chicken and cover all that with bechamel sauce.
I do a short cut bechamel with cream of chicken soup and cream of mushroom soup and add some sour cream. Spice with fresh lemon juice and a couple tablespoons of curry powder.
Cover it all with shredded sharp cheddar and heat until the cheese is melted and browning.
It sounds dreadful, but...is very good. Even my husband who is not a broccoli fan likes it. And, it is better heated up the second day.
There may be a recipe floating around somewhere, but I do this from memory.
It's a really good winter dish, and a big pan of it will feed a lot of people!

It sounds delicious! I would omit the curry though. I'm not a fan of that flavor.
I still use recipes out of that Better Homes and Garden cook book.
