being of an advanced age - certain things are not viable and your dad is remarkable having survived so much - i can't even imagine

i hope you have a good support system and pls post or vent whenever you need

a rule of thumb - which i dont do

stick ur finger into soil about an inch

this will gauage if ur plant needs water

so after u water from the bottom - wait a bit and stick ur finger to make sure water has been absorbed

meyer lemon supposedly less tart bc a meyer is a cross w/tangerine or sumthin'

less acidic and a bit sweeter - thin skin and juicer

i have only seen them at TJ - begins late nov - march - then all gone

idk if u can taste the difference in a cake mix - i think i can maybe taste side by side - it is still sour lemony - 

same as key limes - cant really find key limes but everyone calls it key lime pie

@Yahooey : My major job today is washing clothes especially DH stuff. I have been washing my stuff all week trying not to let it pile up. So tired of this hand washing. It has been a week since parts ordered but haven't heard anything. Just praying that the washing machine can be fixed

I've been dealing with my dad this last week.  He had a cat scan a while back for a hernia, and they found a tumor.  On top of that, he's had 2  melanomas removed from his head.  He's really been dealing with so much this year.  His left lung fills with fluid and they need to drain it.  He takes care of one thing and then something else pops up.  

He's 90 and he's been a diabetic for over 50 years.  He's had 2 heart attacks and 3 strokes.  He walks every day, he reads 3 newspapers every day, he's as sharp as a tack.  He never complains, never feels sorry for himself, takes care of his daily needs - he's perfect.  

Monday, they finally were able to get a biopsy of this tumor.  We got the results last night that it's malignant.  The good news is that it's a very slow-growing and non-agressive cancer.  Monday, he goes for a PET scan and hopefully it hasn't spread.  We'll no more after we get the results of that back.  The oncologist said that if it hasn't spread, they will discuss what his options are.  They may remove it or leave it and watch it.

I am truly being optimistic and very positive about this.  I hold my breath every time something happens with him.  He always seems to bounce back, and he has so much life left in him.  I know he can't live forever, but this week really has been difficult.  This is not a road I want to travel down.

I love you all and I just needed this time to process everything.

Advice..

when stress builds up- put your coat on if needed and go for a walk by yourself or have some go with you  and release all the pent up tension,etc.It sounds like you do relieve some!
