@Bri369 : Thank you. Trying to select from good brands and hopefully a mid price . I had two selections from Shaw that I liked better. When the sales person called them directly they indicated that a certain portion of there brands would not be back in production until sometime next year. 
Interesting that yesterday one of my friends stated that I was overthinking the carpet purchase. But I consider this to be a major purchase and want to be satisfied with the  final purchase.She is not rich and I am not rich but she has to be careful with her money yet when she needs something- she doesn't do any research, looking for sales or discounts just goes shopping and looks at the most interesting display and gets what ever and if she doesn't like it just gives it to her kids or other family members. I like to save money on any purchase because you may need something else sooner than later. What concerns me is that everything cost more but the quality is a big issue. DH and I went to Home Depot this morning while we were out before going to Walmart. I wanted to look at bathroom vanities. HD had more available in the store than Lowe's. DH was really shocked that everything was particleboard. Some items on display looked horrible because not put together correctly or what ever issues yet priced $200 or more.

Yes,i walked with her this morning and i suggested not taking short cut back home  and we added several more blocks  home!

Then had to get into jammies and well i'm done for the day!

Everything is very expensive, hard to get, and the quality is not good at all.  It's very frustrating.

Carpeting is a major purchase and should be thought out before making a final decision.

@Bri369 : Thank you. I really want laminate for the hallway  and living room and carpet for the den. DH said absolutely no for any more laminate. He is convinced that it hurts him more to walk on it and that the hallway and living room will be much colder. I purchased the janitor sized microfiber wet and dry pads with extra long handle for the family room. Using this is easier for me instead of the vacuum.

@Bri369 : I really liked the look of this vanity:

 The reviews are mixed and a lot of complaints about the colored particleboard chipping and peeling. Plus of course the faucet and backsplash is extra but the vanity with sink top $199. Then to pay someone to pick it up for me and install. No easy decisions. Plus the vanity is taller. I am so tired of the old white vanity and sink.
