Re: Predator Moved Into Our Neighborhood

That blows my mind that people can get drugs in prison.

Guards could probably get prison time for turning their heads the other way.

And how fun could prison be---high?  You're in prison for heaven's sake.  Oh and if you get caught, you're gonna get a longer sentance (I hope).

How does that happen?

I'm in Florida and it happens all the time. You can also sign up for alerts by inputting your address and within a certain amount of miles you will be notified with a map of where the person is, their picture and what they were convicted of.

OMGosh--who in their right mind would want to do something that could so easily put them in prison?  Especially if they know how bad it is in prison.  Who wants to take the chance to stay longer.  I just can't wrap my head around it.

Regarding instinct.... or that first basic, primal feeling that something is wrong....

That gut feeling is somelthing that every human should listen to.  It has been hard-wired into humans in order to help us survive over a million years and as civilization has developed, we've more or less tapped that initial feeling down as probably wrong.... or don't be silly.  We can often glean a feeling of danger eminating from around us.  Some times we're wrong, but always act as though there is substance to it.  Leave, get to a safe place, be prepared to defend, etc. because there is always a chance that feeling is right....

Q4U,

I felt that instinct this morning.  Something wasn't right with that guy on the bike.   If he wanted to "chat" one would think he would wave, say hello, smile, not just stare at me and ride his bike at my exact pace.  I felt instant concern and that's why I stopped walking and yelled when he started to come over the median.

A friend once told me to scream and act nuts, make all the noise you can even if it's embarrassing.   No person with bad intentions is going to want to be near a loud person making a scene.

I was tolp by a police officer that you should yell "911 FIRE" never "help". People will react much faster if they think there's a fire and will more likely call or run to help. "FIRE" gets their attention FAST!

I clicked on the link and put my zip-code in and it revealed the predators in a one mile radius from my home. There's one offender in his 80's living in a very very ritzy gated community. He was convicted of having s-x with someone who was incapacitated. Smiley Surprised

Ew.  Why would someone want to sleep with someone who didn't have a head?

Incapacitated means that someone can't move. Decapitated means that the head isn't attached to the body.

Oh lord.  You know, I've been scratching my eyes so much all day because of my allergies that I took my contacts out when I got home from work. I thought it said decapitated.  Oops. Never mind. I'll never make that beefstake again!
