Title it without the word prayer.
I am fine with it on AF.

True .but it is natural for people to offer prayers.

Since we all already know that discussion of politics AND religion is verboten here, I don't get the confusion.
However, if somebody insists on bucking the rules, this seems to go over on the 'Among Friends' forum, as several people have mentioned. I also don't understand the confusion there either. That has been the status quo here for quite a while now.
I'm not trying to be disrespectful, but those are the facts as pertain to this board. There are lots and lots of religious boards around the internet, and maybe there is something that would be perfect for the religious needs of everybody. ![]()

But people of other religions could offer up their prayers.

Then. Very simply. The thread should go to AF. Not CC.
I don't get the reason for posting this thread either. It's been long known that religious content is not something acceptable in CC nor even back in the VP days. The responses so far are overwhemingly in favor of a prayer thread residing in AF not CC.

@Moonchilde wrote:@PamfromCT, it's not the topic per se (witness the Turkey coup thread still standing), but as has been said multiple times by moderators about various threads, it's the *content.* If a prayer thread gets posts about *other* than requesting prayers, some of those individual posts may be offensive to others, and touch on deletable standards.
A prayer thread, to me, would be people requesting prayers and others saying they will pray for them, and expressing sympathy. And that's ALL. But there will be sermonizing posts, extensive scripture quotes, proselytizing posts, End-of-the-World posts, What's Wrong With the World/Country posts, bigoted posts, etc.
It's not the fault of those who start the thread and post as requested, but it will happen, and the moderators may be asked to delete some posts. And when some posts are deleted, the posters will get up in arms about QVC being anti-(specific) religion, etc.
So, even if the concept is simple and straightforward, the execution will become messy. I think anyone who has been on the forums awhile has seen it happen with religious/prayer request threads already.
Very well stated .... two thumbs up to you! ![]()

Respectfully, the Mr Lucky thread is not private or exclusive or exempt from the rules. It resides in CC and as such needs to stay within the parameters of the CC forum.
Each thread is important to someone. Not one person in this forum is more important than the next. I would think that if posting religious content is really important, you could move the thread to AF where religious postings are allowed.
I am not in favor of a prayer thread in CC. Among Friends is the more acceptable forum.
@mstyrion 1, I am very aware the Mr. Lucky thread isn't private or exclusive or exempt from the rules but hey when you do see a prayer request on other threads in CC, then I say delete them all.. don't complain or single out one particular thread, that was my point, and I won't apoloize for how I feel..

Hi Goldens! They do seem to go ahead and not interfere with that in the 'Among Friends' forum.
I think if people would just go ahead and do that they wouldn't have problems in other forums. That seems to be working ok, up to this point.

Simple requests for prayers are seldom deleted. As Moonchilde said, the trouble begins when prayers morph into scripture, sermonizing and proselytizing. Big difference from a simple request for prayer.
Can you see the difference?

@KingstonsMom wrote:Since that request would involve a change in the Community Standards (which says religion, politics, controversial, etc. are not allowed), the Mods may not be able to make that decision.
That may require a higher authority at QVC.
But if religion is alllowed, next up would be requests to allow politics & controversial topics, in the name of 'being fair'.
If it's being allowed in Among Friends, why rock the boat?
Like maybe a request for the non-believers here. Now, that would go over well:/
Or Wiccans for that matter....that would really have some heads spinning!
