Nothing stolen so far...

No, not in my neighborhood. We've lived here in upstate NY 35 years and never any issue. We are blessed with wonderful neighbors; some are "old timers" like us but many different families have moved in throughout the years.
Since we livenear a highly regarded technology, research center that attracts talent from all over, our subdivision has become a regular United Nations. It's been a pleasure to meet and come to know many of these people as they make their way in a new culture as our relatives did several generations back.
When I was sick last winter, the young Chinese woman across the street brought me her bone broth soup and always brings me a lovely tin of Chinese tea when they celebrate their Lunar New Year. One of the Indian families, sent their 2 sons to shovel out our driveway after the town plow went by for the third time. A Korean lady we were never introduced to brought our recycling bins up our driveway during a snow storm.
I realize I'm meandering, as usual, but I thought a few feel good stories might be uplifting for people to read especially at the holidays.

And what sticks in my head was an incident during the summer. Our neighbor across the street, went on vacation. While they were away several large packages were delivered. The packages sat by their front door for 4 - 5 days.
I wanted to take the packages and give them to our neighbor when they returned. My husband said to leave them alone. The neighbor had several family members living in the area. And maybe they were going to pick up the packages and I might cause problems if the packages were no longer there.
The packages were rather large so they were clearly visible from the street, if someone was looking to grab them.
I'd want to move them to their back door too.

I've been told the videos are AI generated. Also, yes we have many incidents of the morons stealing packages. I live in a very urban area; and have 8 ring cameras around my property. Doesn't stop them. They know the police won't do anything about it.

Yes, those videos of exploding packages are fake.

Wow - How mean!!!
Porch pirates are not an issue in our townhouse complex, thankfully.
Has anyone else seen those YouTube clips where the "package" explodes and the "Pirate" is covered in colored dye - Like the dye packs they use at Banks?
Most if not all of those videos are faked for click engagement.

Well, this is sort of a REVERSE porch pirate ... I think.
I went out to check for mail and there were two good sized packages out front. Neither were for us or anyone on this street.
It was for a nearby street, but calling Amazon as a courtesy call was pointless. Didn't want to take them inside the gate and didn't want to leave them for anyone who happened by.
It's always something, isn't it?
