I have decided for 2017 I am boycotting all pop-ups.  You know the message that pops up on websites to enter your email address for 'great saving'.

I am really going to try to clean up my email, so much 'stuff' to get through.

@Abrowneyegirl, This is a ubiquitous practice on so many sites now, and it's not going to change.   It's the "price" of using a "free" internet.   I'd suggest using browser add-ons/extensions to stop the popups and also to prevent tracking, such as Ad Block, Ad Block Plus, uBlock Origin, Better Privacy, etc.    (They differ slightly depending upon the browser you use.)  Also, be sure to clear browser cookies/cache/website data regularly to help with the tracking.

I never click on ones I know I'll never buy from. If they want a click before being able to even view the site at all, I ALWAYS PASS. The nerve.

I do give it when it's a site I plan on buying from in the near future. I'll take their 10-15% off!  But after I buy I just unsub if it's one of the places that sends you emails every day.

I boycott and send messages to the PR departments of companies that use doorbells in their TV and radio commercials.   With 4 dogs,  I have just cause.   One commercial creates chaos.

I am sorry but I am getting a really funny visual from this.  I have one large dog and he might bark once but he just stands looking at the door and looking at me - like aren't you going to open it?

@DiAnne  The worst of my offenders is the sheltie.   They're yappy by nature.... that's how they herd sheep.   Once he decides there are marauders in the area intent on pillaging,  he will not let go.   It goes on and on.   The others will bark but the sheltie takes is responsibilities a little too seriously.   Funny thing is,  he's actually very timid and would not want to meet his imagined adversary face to face.
