Re: Pooch Perfect...new show...NO!!!

It's done by professional dog groomers so not sure what the fuss is about.

I would think most of the dogs in the show get groomed normally anyway. So coloring their fur is not that big a deal. It's not like the dogs care what color their fur is.

I've been seeing the ad for a new show on ABC called Pooch Perfect. Looks like a competition to see how outlandish they can groom dogs to look like all sorts of different animals. I cannot imagine anyone that loves dogs would think this is okay. I'm sure (at least I hope so) the colors they use on the dogs is safe, but to put those poor dogs through all of that is unacceptable in my honest opinion. Some days I think I've seen it all and then something like this comes along and I just cringe.

I hope it gets cancelled as soon as possible.😡

It probably will be a huge success because people love dogs, but I agree with you about the colored dyes. Why not make it a little educational for dog owners instead.Smiley Happy

I hate shows like this and won't even watch the tv ads.

These are living, breathing, trusting animals.  They're not toys or fashion accessories.  I'm surprised Rebel Wilson has anything to do with it.

Glad I'm not the only one bothered by it.

Are you guys against fancy grooming (not talking about docking or anything like that, just styling and clipping the fur) and putting unnecessary little sweaters on dogs too? I find it pretty harmless if the dog doesn't mind it. I see it as more silly than bad for the dogs.

I've never been a fan of putting silly costumes on dogs or cats either.  Again, they're animals, not toys.

I have no problem seeing beautifully groomed dogs at shows like Cruft's or AKC.

I think that this show is a poor example of how to treat dogs. What is the point!!! We have so many mindless shows on TV and this is one. I don't want to see dogs used as ornaments.  Some idiot will try to do this to their dog and harm or kill the dog.

I wonder if the intelligent level has dropped so low that people consider this entertainment. Animal abuse is a problem and then we do this type of programming. IMHO, this show should have never happened.

I was appalled when I saw the previews. Most definitely will not be watching.

Count me in as another who will not watch this show.  I don't care if the dyes are seemingly safe, they probably are not.

This show should be taken off before it starts.  Where are the animal humane groups.  Where's PETA?

@grandma petes  I totally agree. The very first time I saw the ad for this show I thought wow, how clever some of these DO's are. Then then most I saw of more ads I think this is all wrong especially all the dogs' furs they dye. I have to think what the groomers use is SAFE but still.

If they wanted a dog to resemble a lion, they should've purchased a lion.
