Pollution from illegal marijuana farms deep in California's national forests is far worse than previously thought, and has turned thousands of acres into waste dumps so toxic that simply touching plants has landed law enforcement officers in the hospital.

I don't understand the obsession for all of this pot. Smoking isn't harmful anymore? Defies common sense.

I don't use pot, but it comes in many forms where you don't have to to smoke (ingestibles, food products, etc.). Our state just legalized recreatational marijuana (Nevada) and Califofrnia also legalized it this year. It's still against the Federal law.

Ingested pot poses a danger to children and pets. I think it makes no sense to have such a material an easily available commercial product. Can't see how any good comes out of it. I guess some will do anything for money.

@masque Thank you for posting this. I've seen articles about illegal pot pollution before and this is truly a sad situation.
Making these farms legal will not make up for the damage already done.
What a ****** shame.

@Cakers3 I think the illegal pot growers will continue and it will still be sold on the street. ( not to me,tho... legal or illegal) ![]()

As if we don't already have enough social problems, legalizing Marijuana is just crazy and will do nothing but compound the problems we already have. The states legalizing it just want the tax revenue it will generate, so we sell our souls to the devil plant.
The National Parks everywhere are in deplorable condition due to lack of maintenue. Saw this at Yellowstone two years ago and have no desire to ever go back.

That is absolutely horrible. In addition, I would like to say that this medical pot should only be sold in edible form. Smoking is hazardous no matter what the substance. Wake up law makers. ![]()
