Polishing Marble Floor - ???

We have a small section of marble floor at our entryway just in front of the stairs. It's about 8 x 10' and we would like to polish and buff it. What type of non-slip polish or wax should we use? Since it's so small is there any way we can buff it without renting a big floor buffer unit? TIA for your responses.

I have this on "For the Home Talk" forum too but since Viewpoints probably gets more traffic decided to post it here in hopes of getting more responses. TIA.
