I would take a January 11, 2025 forecast with a grain of salt. Shucks my watch can't even figure if it is going rain in the next 30 minutes.

Growing with people from CA.
@monicakm Some are confusing largest land mass/coastlines with population. You and I have definitely seen populations expanding 😟
The traffic has been horrific plus the infrastructure construction to keep up makes things even worse.😧

I believe I was living in TX the last time the power grid was mentioned because it failed
but I cannot remember why it was being discussed?

@LTT1 It was minutes away from shutting down completely.
We did not lose power but DS and family did for 3 days and stayed with us. Considering they lived only a few minutes away.
Market manipulation. That's all I will say.

We are to get super cold temps this weekend and maybe up to 2 inches of snow.
So far only a tiny bit of snow on the grass so far this winter. And alot of more spring like temps than winter!![]()

Our central TX weather guys are scratching their heads. At least this morning, they're stating, that the weather predictions being reported, are probably not accurate for our central location.
But, the final recommendation was to prepare for it "just in case". So we were advised to wrap pipes, plus our typical protection for freezes. Just in case tells me --- they really have no idea, at this point.
Seems the best plan here is to just go look outside, check my thermometer and figure it out myself...LOL.

Think the PNW will be spared from this vortex---maybe get a little chilly but no snow or ice or minus temps--it's been none stop rain for weeks now but hear by Monday there may be calm dry weather.

So far some colder days and a few nights of 32°and below.
With the weather report ending with "we'll have to see" .🙄😄
Fortunate we are die hard northeners so this weather hitting here is easier for us.
I'm not seeing much about the grid so 🤔
