The tallest platform in diving is 10 meters, or just a hair over 32 feet.

 

That's like jumping off of a three story building!😮

 

 

How those divers can jump off of something that far from the water, and do all of those flips and rotations....

 

 

I would be too chicken to even climb up there.

 

 

I always worry that the athletes will hurt themselves on the platform, because that cement is unforgiving and it's a long way down should something go wrong.

The Sky looks different when you have someone you love up there.

Yes, I had to give that up, and took up crochet instead.

I remember when Greg Louganis hit his head on the 3-meter board. So it does happen but, thankfully, not all that often.

They've been practising since they were children.  Yes, accidents happen but those kids who train their entire lives, know what they are doing.  Being an Olympian was always their goal and they worked for it everyday from a very young age.

I have trouble watching sports where people can get hurt easily like boxing, football.  I cannot watch horseracing because if a horse falls, I don't want to see it.
