We have been catering weddings for over 45 years. You have allready been told some of the important things to start with the planning for the big day. My suggestion to you is to tell your daughter if she plans to have a DJ for her reception to go and listen to him before she books him. Take notice if he dresses for the occassion or come dressed like he could care less of how he presents himself. Believe me when a family puts out a large amount of money for a wedding the whole thing will either be a great time for family and friends if your DJ is good and keeps the guests all dancing on the dance floor. We have done many weddings that a couple just books a DJ with out first going out to see how they conduct themselves. It is a real bad night when your DJ has foul words coming out of their mouths, and if they either have a system that they blast the people out of the hall. Or if their equipment is not able to be heard in the reception hall. I have told many brides and grooms go listen to your DJ before you sign a contract because your DJ either makes the reception a fun time or he or she ruins your reception.
