Boy is it cold here. -10 this morning and already that cold tonight. Supposed to warm up to 15 tomorrow.

This is a work Friday for me, so I am just making a quick fly-by...

Q - we had a low of 3 the night before last after our snow. 22 lastnigh, but we had cloud cover. Supposed to be in the upper 30's the next few days.

You guys are great, and DorothyToo, thank you for that pic, it's beautiful. My prayers are with all of us who have animal friends that they stay safe and healthy, and for those of us who have loved and lost our best friends.

I have to tell you it's just been so awful without Kramer I visited our county animal shelter Wednesday to see if there might be another little friend there. I of course wished I could take everyone home with me, but I knew that couldn't happen. I was going down a line of cages saying "hi" to all the dogs and petting them and as I was coming to one cage I heard a dog whimpering - it was coming from the cutest little dog, looks like a shih tzu mix, blonde...and of course the paper on his cage said he had been picked up by the dog catcher a couple of days before and wasn't available for adoption right then. I put my hand up to the cage and this little guy was licking my hand and that was all she wrote.

Apparently the dog had not been vaccinated (there were vaccine stickers on his info paper) and just by his choppy haircut I figured when he was brought in he had a lot of matting of his fur, so he had most likely been neglected. The "owner" (using the term loosely) has until next Tuesday to pay the fines and licensing and if he/she does not, I can adopt him the following day. I gave them my information and they told me if I don't get a call on Tuesday to call first thing Wednesday morning. I really feel like the owner won't come and get him, so I'm kind of hanging out and waiting to see what happens.

Maybe next week I'll have a picture to post of a new friend...
