Oh, I have a too-long list of them, & keep pep-talking myself about not sweating the small stuff.  But sometimes....it just gets to a person, you know?!

Today it is:  Paper plates that are now made too small to hold a knife, so it is always falling off & getting goop (butter or whatever) all over my clothing, almost falling on my dogs, etc.  Grrrr!!

Just felt the need to put that out there.  heh.

Re: Pet Peeve! What's yours?

I too have plenty of pet peeves (mostly about the behaviour of other drivers) but my big one is when you buy something and the cashier hands you a wad of bills and coins all at once. It's bad enough that no one seems to count your change back to you, but it's just plain sloppy not to hand you the bills first, then the change so you can put each away.  I end up shoving the money in a pocket or tossing it into the grocery bag to deal with it later.

Small thing I know, but it makes me NUTS.

My BIGGEST pet peeve is people who are CONSTANTLY on their cell phones in places like the supermarket, in stores, in restaurants, in line, in their cars, in the gym, etc.

Did you hear about that man in San Diego who was so engrossed in his cell phone he walked off a cliff and was killed? OMG!

As for my own personal pet peeves; I don't care for commercials, ESPECIALLY commercials about ED and other such matters but I solve that by DVRing what I want to watch and FFing through the commercials.

One pet peeve is to meet a car on the highway and they cross the center line and come straight towards you - happened to me just yesterday; I had to lay on the horn and cut right.

I don't like to see garbage alongside the road but I can't call that a pet peeve.

I try to keep my irritations to a minimum....

Re: Pet Peeve! What's yours?

It seems most of my pet peeves involve the grocery store.  LOL

When the person in front of you doesn't move out of the way and they're blocking the keypad.

Or when the person behind you is ansty to get taken care of and and is pushing their cart into my back.

My pet peeve are the self-checkouts that all the grocery stores are putting in so they don't have to pay a cashier. I try to unload, scan and bag as quickly as possible but inevitably something won't scan, I then have to wait for an employee to come help me, the people behind me act all inconvenienced and are breathing down my neck trying to get me to hurry along and get out of there.

Doctors who leave Mom and me in the exam room for long periods of time, with the door closed.

I understand that it is sometimes necessary to make us wait, but why can't we wait in the waiting room where there are distractions, instead of closed up in an uncomfortable exam room?  My mom has dementia and every moment waiting seems like forever to her. If it were just me, I'd bring a book or play a word game on my phone, but for some people, like her, that's not an option.
