Re: Pet Peeve! What's yours?

Chewing gum & Bubble gum. Wish it had never been invented! I don't allow my employees to chew gum. Absolutely can't stand the noise!!!!!! I think people look like cows chewing gum.

Also, no "smacking" noises when eating. None allowed.

Re: Pet Peeve! What's yours?

My major pet peeves all involve the grocery store shopping experience.

First: those people who take up both sides of the aisle pushing their cart right down the middle & those who park their carts in the middle of an aisle, blocking everyone else, while they wander around picking items off the shelves.

Second: those people who apparently don't understand that they actually have to pay for their groceries.  They stand idle, staring into space, while the clerk scans everything and then once the clerk is finished, gives them a total, and only then do they start fishing around in their purse for their wallet, checkbook, debit or credit card.

Third: those people who have no clue as to how to use a debit card.  If you aren't comfortable using one, go to your bank and get someone there, or a relative to show you how to use it, before you show up at a store.

OK... so no one has come close to my "insane" pet peeve.  The water left behind on the faucets and countertops in a bathroom or kitchen after someone uses the sink.

I dry everything down if I splash water outside the sink.  At least once a day I take a large handfull of peper towels and wipe down the "lake" of water left behind on the 3 sink countertop in the woman's bathroom at work.  I've been known to wipe faucets and countertops down in public restrooms, friends and relatives houses, etc...

Come to think of it, perhaps this is more on me and being terribly ODC about a dry countertop than a pet peeve.  Smiley Very Happy

Still, please don't leave your splashy mess behind.

I thought that was only me.  My husband blasts the faucet and leave water sprayed all over the wall, floor, and counter/sink top.  Drives me insane!

And I thought I was the only one @Karnerblue!  Makes me feel better knowing that I'm not alone! Smiley Happy

Re: Pet Peeve! What's yours?

this is so silly i hate to even mention it, but......my husband constantly leaves the lights on when he leaves the room.  it drives me crazy.  i was brought up to turn lights off when leaving the room.  he says, it is not costing that much in electricity so, so what?  that's not the point.  besides this, he really is a great guy.  lol  this just grates on me.  sorry everyone.

@Goldengate8361

dh used to smoke cigars when he golfed and then stopped and started with the bubble gum chewing like a cow.  well, that took a bit of counselling from me and thankfully he no longer does it.  what he does on the golf course i don;t know and i don't care!  just so he doesn't do it with me!

Condescending dentists and hygienists.

Much to the dismay of the dentist and hygienist, I had asked for a lead apron to be put on my family when we had went to the dentist and needed xrays.

The hygienist basically told me that I was the only one who's concerned about radiation from xrays. I don't believe it.

The dentist said the amount of radiation is negligible and why should they waste time putting on and taking off aprons when it doesn't help.

I'm surprised to read this.  My general dentist, periodontist and oral surgeon all insist on the apron and neck covering.  I've often asked if I really needed them as I find them uncomfortable.

oh daisy, i always get the apron without asking.  that's just bad.  everyone i know wears it and you should not let them bully or intimidate you.
