Used to be a place in Amarillo that sold tornado shelters I saw their sign, then, they were gone.
My house was built with 2x6's instead of 2x4's.
I know that won't protect from a tornado, but, I've been told that mine will still be standing if strong winds,
storms come around.
Guess it's not up to us whether or not we die in bad weather. Higher power has it figured out.

The storm that was raging at 5:00 a.m. this morning in my Texas town was just awful. A lightening strike went down close to the window I was riding my stationary bike at and with the clap of thunder I almost fell off the thing. I saw the report about the tornado and my heart goes out to them.

News in the Houston area: "Three people are confirmed dead and about 100 are injured after a tornado touched down in Perryton, Texas."
Prayers are being sent. Please be safe.
@EarthAngelInTraining Are you in Houston? I heard it's supposed to be 110° there today. I lived there over 30 years and it never got anywhere near that hot. My sympathy to you. With the humidity, that's brutal.

More and more people are moving to Texas. They all want to go to sun belt states. Florida, Arizona, etc. Tornado & heat is an after thought.I think most people can take the heat, otherwise so many wouldn't be going there. But Texas so huge....even millions pouring in the state would not be able to fill it. The surprise is New Mexico. My sister moved there. It used to be a poor forgtten state. But all these people want to go there. Changes means good for them.

Our sirens started going off about 10:30 last night but it was not even windy or raining....we weren't sure what to do. TV and my weather app only showed the panhandle and areas where there was rotation.
My former lboss lives in Perryton...when he retired he moved back up there...I heard he had some bad roof damage but fortunately he and his wife weren't injured.

I live in Friendswood but work in Houston. Temperature yesterday was 104 in Houston; however, I got a break at the house where it was a cool 97. I am sooooo not good with heat myself. It has gotten increasingly hotter the past several years.
Thank you so much for your thoughts; I appreciate you.
I'm ready for Winter. ☃️❄️🌬️ who's with me 😎👍
