It blows my mind.
Especially once everyone had a cell phone in their hand to be able to talk to people.
Like here?
Good point, this is THE SAME THING as texting.
Almost...I certainly hope people aren't replying to threads while driving in their vehicles.

I made a post last week someone almost hit us when they were talking on their cell and my husband had to swerve and we just missed the curb. And when we got our new car a few years ago someone hit us in a parking lot where we were sitting having ice cream. He was on the cellphone too. We had to get our new car repaired just after getting it.
Im SO fed up with cellphones everywhere its unreal. We went to the movies Sunday and 2 people had to open their phones during the movie. Whats SO important that people have to keep using cellphones everywhere? I just DONT get it and never will!
For the record, I have a prepaid cell I rarely use. I have no interest in being on a phone while Im out and about with my husband/family/friends. I am spending time with them, why should I be on a phone? IE RUDE!
I totally AGREE on the texting and driving..BUT you have no CLUE what other people's lives are about..that they may of been a LEGIT reason they opened that phone.I need my phone for work all the time. I never know when I will be called out..a patient in crisis..I would rather open my phone and disturb your movie then have somebody off themselves..seriously not everything is about you.. ETC.
I also have a disabled husband that has severe medical issues..so I may just open my phone when I need to..so sorry my life does not match yours..you come across high and mighty and preachy all the time..like because YOU don't like Cell Phones..then they are the evil incarnate..cause you and hubby think so!
I commute daily ..all over a large part of our state and it isn't only texting and cell phone talkers out there. I see people putting on makeup..talking a mile a minute to the person next to them with their hands a going..I see them eating..cars thinking they have Four Wheel Drive so they can plow thru the ice/snow up the middle of the road.
This was about TEXTING and Driving..which I totally agree 250% with ..against! Not only teens but adults too! Then we have the older drivers who shouldn't be out driving..
So yeah I will be a RUDE person and open my phone when I am out ..as I am on call 24/7..and it may save a life!
CQ, very well put.
I am sick of people bashing cell phone use for the same reason you are. They know nothing about the lives and needs of others.
And I don't include texting or chatting while driving. I support education and harsh fines for that. Even jail time if their actions hurt someone else.

We have an occasional substitute postal delivery person who talks NON-STOP (and very loud) on her entire mail delivery route. We see her here, there, and everywhere, talking non-stop. Who is she talking with? Kids (if she is a mom) are in school, although who knows if schools allow cell phone talking/texting during classes now-a-days. It's a puzzle to all of our neighbors, too. Oh, well. To each their own..........

My husband and I are still shaking our heads at this woman taking a selfie behind the wheel of a moving vehicle... Next time I see her, I'll say something too. Nothing, absolutely nothing is that important to text and take pics of yourself while driving... being cute is so dangerous.

Then I am very safe.

What I find very annoying is when, at a red light, the light turns green and the first car doesn't move .... they are texting!
I give it a couple seconds and then BEEP ...... and they look up and start to go.
This texting all the time baloney has got to stop!

I couldn't agree more, Tink. We were leaving our subdivision a few days ago, came to a stop sign behind a car. It was obvious she was texting or emailing as no traffic was coming either way- my husband honked the horn but no reaction so he laid on the horn. That got her attention, she finally turned but did pull off the road not far from the stop sign to finish whatever she was doing. I mean she was not even aware we were behind her at first. That's just sad.
