This will at least let people know that it's okay to have a glass of wine with dinner, etc. I'm sure everyone knows you're supposed to drink in moderation. {#emotions_dlg.sneaky}

Drink up!

Research has found that if you're over 60 alcohol is associated with a better memory.

My own research and and experience along with knowing many that are past this age tells me otherwise.

Research paid for by the United Beverage Association?

These studies will stress moderation which I think makes perfect sense.

I already forgot what the OP said.

This seems to be in conflict with the study that said every alcoholic drink results in dead brain cells. Some people can't afford to lose any.

They've been saying that about the dead brain cells for decades, but I saw an item a few months ago that said there's no basis for it. I can't remember the exact details, but I believe the article was about new research. Frankly, I never believed it.

The vast majority of people do drink in moderation. A long time ago, the statistic was that 10% developed a drinking problem. It's silly, but I don't quite trust someone who never overeats and never will take a drink. I try to have a drink once a week, but I often don't get around to it.

It's been said that one small glass of red wine could be beneficial. After all, wouldn't the alcohol kill the bad bacteria in the stomach and system? Not too much, though. Just thinking of many of the 'old timers' who had/have a daily glass of red wine. Oh, and most/many of them ate/eat dark chocolate every day. Well, it's a nice thought, anyway. Smile

Given the topic, that made me laugh out loud - literally. Thanks - I needed it! {#emotions_dlg.laugh}
