I use one received as a gift when I pledged to public radio. No real complaints.

I like my Contigo travel mugs. Because they really keep my coffee hot all morning, I drink less because I'm not always topping it off just to warm it up. I'm trying to limit my coffee consumption to 2 cups/day, so one mug works for me. I sound like I'm trying to sell them, don't I? I also like them because the seal is good & if I knock it over there's no spillage.
I used to have a Thermos travel mug with a stainless steel lining which also kept my coffee hot all morning. I haven't been able to find another one with the ss lining so I don't know if I just didn't look in the right places or if they don't make them that way any more.

glmama, my husband kept losing my expensive travel mugs. I picked one up from 7-11 when I got some coffee. It was $2.99 and the coffee was free.
It's one of the best mugs I've owned!
It seals nicely, so the coffee doesn't come out when I go over a pothole.
It fits perfectly in my car cup holder.
It's easy to clean (ie, it doesn't retain the coffee smell).
It's well insulated. It keeps my hot coffee hot and my iced coffee cold. I can hold a hot cup of coffee in my hand with no problem.
It holds maybe 10 ounces of coffee plus cream, maybe 12. The size in ounces are on the price tag.
It fits perfectly under the Keurigs when I remove the drip tray.
It's slightly weighted at the bottom so it's difficult to knock over.

I have one fav that I use for my decaf tea. It is a 20oz insulated mug from 7-11, from almost 20 years ago, that has the 49ers logo and NFL logo on it. It was a 'thing' back then. But it's still my favorite. It's not particularly attractive, but it works great.

Contigo for traveling and Tervis are the only ones I drink out of at home.

Thanks for all these replies, everyone.
Looks like Contigo is the way to go--or at least a popular one here.
I agree with some posters who mention their 7-11 mugs or other traveler mugs that have held up better than expected. Sometimes it's the things we don't expect to last that do and vice versa!
Mima & Bichon-I have heard and read many great reviews of the Tervis containers, too. We have a few similar ones for water in our house. Come with straws and tightly fitting lids.
Honny-I will have to check out my local coffee/convenience store mugs!

What a timely thread!
I'm looking to replace my Contigo mug. The one I've used for water for years got dropped & sprang a leak. The one I use for coffee is still going strong.
I'd like to get 2 or three mugs. A spare is a good idea when you use them every day.
I got my mugs from QVC. I wonder who has the lowest price for Contigo?
