@CrazyDaisy   I have to admit reading through this thread-I agree with you.  Too many claws sharpened and out, imo.

Since she says that everyone knows how this person asks such personal questions it stands to reason that everyone also gossips about her.

I seriously doubt that every single person in her area has never asked a question that  might be considered personal or has said something that made another person uncomfortable.

It is almost as though people are taking delight  in making this person the pariah of the community.

Answer kindly or not at all.

We all have curiosity; I doubt everyone has never asked a personal question.

Oh, I loved your line -- about using a glue stick and not chapstick!  So funny!  It seems there is always one around who is like this.  She must be bored with her own life to do this to people!  If you come across her and she asks you if you are dating someone, I'd smile and make up some nonsensical reply such as - hadn't you heard - I bagged a millionaire and we're about to elope and take off on his yacht - and then just walk away!

@Sooner  There are things going on in the world a million times more important to worry about. BTW,  I'm not worried about Peggy, it's just a topic.

However, the important things are not allowed for discussion here.

Everything gets talked about in Community Chat, spouses, co-workers, children, best friends and neighbors. Sometimes it's good stuff, sometimes complaints.

I said she is nosy and asks intrusive questions.  I never said she cheats, beats her kids etc.  She doesn't.  Even after decades of her questions she makes me shake my head sometimes.  Geesh.

I don't believe the neighbor has I'll intent or is just nosey. Some of her questions may be too intrusive, but are easily dismissed without insinuating that she pokes her nose into other's business, which is what the OP's daughter did. There is a line between showing care for one's neighbor and overstepping. Not everyone has learned to remain on the proper side, or even where the proper sides ends and the improper side begins.

Gladys Kravitz was the nosy neighbor on Bewitched.  She would constantly be snooping at Samantha's house.  When she would see witchcraft she would try to tell her husband but he would not believe her.
