Mine took two and a half weeks to be processed and received my paperwork back about 4 days after.  I applied through our local post office passport office.

DH and I received our passport renewals today; 2 weeks after we sent them in. Still awaiting our old passports and passport cards. I am thinking we should receive them later this week.

I'm so glad you started this thread.  I am going to need one this coming November and read online that it may take up to twelve weeks to get a renewal.  Two weeks was really quick!

After reading this post, I am hoping for no more than eight weeks.  I'm going into the post office this Monday with my checkbook ($110.00?), my old passport, and will style my hair the best I can for the photo, afterall, the passport is good for ten years.

Last time I went to Walgreens to get the official passport photo, took it to the post office and they rejected it due to poor quality!  So, I had the PO take the photo on the spot and it was so much better than the Walgreen's attempt.

Yes- $110 is current price for a passport book. (Expedited fee is $60 more). The renewal shouldn't take more than 6 weeks & more than likely less than 3-4 weeks. It depends on how busy they are & how well you complete the renewal form. Just make sure you mail it Priority Mail (flat-rate envelope recommended) & check the tracking number a few days later to make sure it was delivered. Of course fill the form out in black ink or complete online & print it out. Make sure you can answer "yes" to the questions on the form- otherwise you can't use the renewal form. Don't forget to sign & date it. Include your old passport, check payment & current passport photos.

for taking the time to detail out everything I need to do.  Great advice is so helpful!  I will go to the post office for the photo, along with my checkbook, and current passport, and take it from there.

I sure am glad it is good for ten years!

Woman LOL   Woman LOL  Woman LOL

Okay, I just looked at my passport and the expiration date says........... 08 October 2017!

So, I guess I was thinking 2016?  I need it for November of 2016, not 2017!

If you are a member of AAA, they take passport photos and (in my area) they were several dollars cheaper than Walgreen's.

$110 for a U.S. Passport these days?   Wow.

I need to renew mine .... actually I started the process by getting photos but they were so bad that I thought I'd just wait until I had my hair done and then go get better photos .... and it fell by the wayside.

I am going to get going on this ... thanks OP for this reminder!
