But some people can't be honest enough to do that because well, they have a reputation to live up to on here so they remain "sweet" in other people's eyes.
Recent sparring match proved that to me. When points could not be made with backup sources and reliable data, resort to insults and getting the last word in.
Like this: State POV in hostile way, the get in last word by saying Bye sweetie, have a nice evening. That to me is P/A.
Better to say: state POV, I'm ending this now, go choke on it. Hostile? Yes, but at least it's straightforward and to the point.
baddest_dog, I think I understand what you mean, and I prefer people being open, direct, honest, but I'm not a fan of so-called "brutal honesty" (there were some interesting threads about that term, by the way, and I think far too many relish the brutality more than the honesty). However, regarding the area I placed in bold, I think there's a place between the two. We can be direct and honest and still be respectful and civil.
