Maybe it always was this way.  When I was young in the middle of the last century, if the incident wasn't local, we probably never heard about it.  Hearing everything that happens everywhere almost as it's happening makes the world feel even worse than it probably is.

Me too!!  I stay away from any pre-cut veggies or fruits!!  I have wondered about hamburger meats...also have pre-package mixing and handling.
