Re: Overkill coverage of plane

I don't agree. There is a plane missing with 239 lives on board. It should be in the news as much as possible.

I don't watch news on TV but am glad they have stayed on the story. Hijacking affects all who travel by air, so it's a compelling story because of the 200+ people terrorized on board, and also the precedent and encouragement this will give to more hijackers.

Those things go in waves. There were a lot in the later 1970s. There will be a lot more now. It is a big news story. If everyone drops it, we can be sure that Maylasia will. The tiny chance that there are survivors among the passengers would then evaporate, though I suppose they are all dead by now. It's hard for me to believe that posters here don't care one way or another, but then I switched off TV news about 10 years ago. Too much speculation, too little "news."

I don't think that at all. There may be some, but do believe many are very concerned about this.....and do care...... I hope and pray they never quit looking for the plane..... Someone has to know where it is, and if the 200+ made it or not....... We all need to say our prayers tonight......

I understand why this is a top story everywhere, if the plane is never found, it will be chalked up to one of the strangest mysteries around.

It's not news though when the speculation is running rampant. Report when there is something new known. I would think all of the theories about the fate of the passengers would be extremely difficult for the families.

This was discussed on another thread earlier (yesterday?). The nonstop coverage doesn't bother me. I watch the news during the day as background noise. I find this story fascinating and devastating for the families. It is just appalling that the Malaysian officials aren't more transparent (I hate that phrase but it fits) with the public.

If it were my loved ones I would want it front and center so they never stop trying to find out what happened and where they are.

But that's just me...I care.

I agree...there were over two hundred people on that plane so there are many people who want it front and center. For those who aren't interested I suggest they find something else to listen to or watch.
