Outpricing the average customer

I have been a QVC shopper for over 30 years.  Things have changed over the years but lately it seems clothing is outpricing the average customer.

I understand prices in the world are crazy but it seems the designers on QVC are banding together and pricing their lines along the same scale.  I saw a couple of shirts on air but the price was more than I wanted to spead.  I went to a good department store and bought shirts almost idential for less money.

Don't get me wrong, I really like QVC but will be more selective.

@Karla001  I know everything went up in pricing, but you are right. I was watching the Dennis Basso show last night and the price on the blazer, sweater and top....too much. Whether these prices match in store pricing, it's still too high for what it is. The buying numbers have to be down.

Re: Outpricing the average customer

I am in the market for a winter coat/jacket, most likely a barn jacket, but at the pricing on Q I just can't justify it. I can't feel the quality of the material and am not sure of the fit so I will buy locally to be sure.

Re: Outpricing the average customer

I totally agree. I opened a email from the Q yesterday to check out what they suggest for me. I peeked but ran fast ,a simple blouse was $70 + s& h and tax so $80
NO WAY, I can't believe anyone pays that. I believe it's because of easy pays.

QVC has a lot of tops on clearance prices starting at $7.99. A search shows over 800 tops under $25.00

I've been around a long time and do not have a limited budget, but I refuse to pay the prices for clothing the Q is selling.  No longer am I willing to pay even the sale price of things, because they are still too high.

Re: Outpricing the average customer

Escalating clothing prices are not a QVC problem, it's something thre whole clothing industry is experiencing.   It's exceeding the increasing prices on other consumer goods.

The trend is expected to continue so don't expect relief anytime soon.  Today's high priced goods may be tomorrow's bargains.

Re: Outpricing the average customer

I don't shop as much on the Q anymore. If I find something I really love I will pay more, but I'm finding good prices and nice items in my local stores right now.

I bought a blouse, shirt, cardigan, and a pair of pants last week at local stores and spent under $100 total. Even my more expensive Talbot's trousers that I bought a few weeks ago were buy one, get one 50% off. No reason for me to pay more when I can buy locally for less.

I still love to shop in person so I enjoy buying things that way too.

Have a Good Day!

Re: Outpricing the average customer

I understand Karina.  I shop for things elsewhere too.  I've been a QVC/QVN member for about 40 years.  Things used to be the one-of-a kind items and nicely priced as well.  Not the case today.

I believe that the industry is at the mercy of the consumers - We don't buy, they don't sell or have jobs.

Re: Outpricing the average customer

Agreed.  I saw several items Jennie had on yesterday but I am not paying $70 for a top.  I have more than enough clothes and can afford them but I shop wisely.  I shop clearance, outlets, as is and other choices.
