I've yet to see a man embrace his essence.

That's because they're born with it.

Most guys innately feel more positive and confident about themselves, so it's always been the norm.

Girls are born with it, also, but we learn or are taught to "hide our light under a bushel".

This whining, these excuses are what I find distasteful. Are some women so weak they need constant reassurance from other women?

It's taken years to actually learn to embrace one's self as growing up in the shadow of the 1960's and being a 1970's person, the outer was supposed to reflect the inner.  Not necessarily so.  Many were and are so insecure in their looks and appearances that all sorts of things were done.

Realizing what lies we are all told, it takes strength and courage to embrace yourself.  Beauty comes from within.  Radiating it outward is embracing others, but only for those who appreciate it.

@MaggieMack You are very fortunate, hope you are always able to maintain them.  I was a fairly strong bb player, gardener, rock wall builder, and swimmer; unfortunately two long-term chronic, degenerative diseases have taken a toll.

Embrace yourself!  I mean, literally and figuratively! If no one appreciates or appears to appreciate your special qualities --- then so what?  Its their loss.  Its truly how you feel about yourself that matters.  If you're not kind and giving to yourself, you can't be kind and giving to others.

I have low esteem -- always have had -- but as I am aging -- I am slowing learning --- that I AM a beautiful person on the inside.  And I have so much to offer.  I am kind hearted and true to myself.  In this way, I feel I reflect that on others!!
